Samurai Vs Knights Essay
For everyone who doesn't like going to school you would probably rather be a knight than a Samurai. Knights learned singing and dancing and they didn't learn how to read or write. Samurai had to go to school and learn how to read and write. In this essay I will compare Samurai & Knights Religious Beliefs, Views on women, Weapons & Armor. Samurai also had to commit seppuku if they were captured which was a form of ritual suicide which knights did not. In the first paragraph I will write about how Knights religion more fit my belief system and helped their society. Knights had more Christian beliefs (Mainly Roman Catholic.) The Samurai had good armor that protected them. The samurai had better armor than the knights because it was heavier with more protection. Under their armor they wore a kimono. A kimono was a robe tied at the waist. Another benefit of Samurai's armor and weapons were that they had two swords instead of one. They had one for chopping of heads and one for everything else. The Samurai also had masks that looked like monsters to frighten their enemies. Having these masks would give the Samurai an advantage because it would be easier to beat a scared army. The Knights had less protective armor. The Knights were more focused on less protective but more agile armor. Also they only had one sword compared to the Samurai who had two. The Knights armor included chain mail and garments which were not very protective. Unlike Samurai, knights did not just use swords. They also used hammers and clubs. In Conclusion Knights and Samurai show us what warriors should look like in their Religion, views on women, and Weapons & Armor, both knights and Samurai were both good warriors but in different ways. They may have had different beliefs, and armor but they were both also very alike. They were both knowledgeable, risk-takers, and reflective on their battle skills.
