Having a strong web presence is not only important in today’s world, it is vital for survival in today’s super connected world. Companies, banks, agencies and private industries must be able to create an environment to interact with customers, government officials and other companies in order to thrive. Opening yourself up to anyone through the Internet often means opening your system up to the world. Today we are more connected than ever, and cyberspace is littered with a multitude of individuals, some with the intent to compromise network confidentiality, integrity and availability. Anyone with a computer and Internet access can become a victim or criminal over the web. As a result, networks and servers are under constant attack these days. Attackers are changing their techniques daily and are on a never ended endeavor to disrupt companies for their selfish reasons. Two such forms of disruption are Denial of Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. These forms of disruption have cost companies millions of dollars and are showing no signs of stopping. That is why it is up to security professionals to create the best safeguards and impose efficient and proper techniques to prevent, mitigate and discover these attacks before they inflict terrible harm. In the following assignment, these important topics of prevention, mitigation and discovery will be discussed as they relate to DoS and DDoS attacks on today’s systems. Specifically, three academic journals have been selected that relate to this topic. This essay will first briefly summarize each article that was selected and state the methods of prevention, mitigation or discovery as they relate to denial of service attacks. The second part of this essay will explore in detail the specific methods discussed in the summaries as they relate to a proposed technique and practical…

Task 1: A family friend has been operating his own small fashion clothing business (KH Fashions) that has been trading for five years. He has decided to expand the business and has asked you to research different businesses. He wishes to explore different business types in the public and private sectors including local authority organisations and charities (as one of his options is to pursue a social-enterprise route) and because he wants to do this in a professional way, has asked you specifically to research different business types in terms of their ownership, financing, sectors, aims and stakeholders and to summarise, analyse and evaluate this information. In addition to these requirements, he is a great believer in the importance of good communication and whilst he will accept, and possibly expects you to demonstrate, a range of communication methods, for more detailed, analytical and evaluative work he insists on formal essays or reports. All your research should be referenced and well-written in terms of spelling, grammar, punctuation, structure and presentation. You should also assume that he knows little about business therefore define and explain the meaning of all terms.…

    (1) A few years ago, I watched a terrifying story on ABC's 20/20. It was a story about a teenage girl who had gotten pregnant. She successfully managed to keep her pregnancy from everyone, even her immediate family. She secretly gave birth to a baby girl -- by herself -- at the basement of her house. Out of fear, she covered the baby with a blanket and the baby died. There was an investigation and trial on the teenage girl, whether she should be convicted of murder or not.…

Belonging is an individual pursuit that is dictated by us and our internal thoughts. It is a mental state that indelibly relates to who we are at any given point in time but also dictates where we are striving to be in the future. Whilst we all desire a smooth pathway to our future sense of belonging we are constantly challenged by the interactions we have with people around us. At times these relationships can inspire us to be more than we thought it possible to be because of the genuine love provided to us from another person. At other times they limit our sense of who we are and make us question ourselves. Despite the obvious differences they can both make a positive impact on our progression to a deeper understanding of belonging. We also rely on the events of our life to help us transition to our aspirational sense of belonging. Like our relationships the experiences we encounter are a mixture; they aren’t always desirable but they are all formative in developing our identity and thus have an impact on being able to belong within our own mental state. Once the characters in Rainbow’s End by Jane Harrison and The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak realise the desired person they wanted to be they then become a formidable person and naturally belong in any circumstance. This confirms that the more we connect with our present understanding of belonging and engage with what we want to become we become our true self.…
