Same-sex marriage should be helpful to society

Same-sex Marriage also known as gay marriage or equal marriage and it is marriage between two persons of the same biological sex or gender identity. It is an important issue because it concerns basic moral and human rights. Nowadays, many gay couples have come out and expressed their sexuality choices. Although many people are against the legalization of same sex marriage, the same sex marriage should be legalized because it is their civil right which is a separate institution from religious. It encourages strong family values leading to the increasing number of child adoption, and provides physical and psychological health benefits.

First of all, same-sex marriage would make it easier and fitter for gay couples to adopt children. There are many children in this world without loving parents. Even if people are gay, they can save a child by providing them stable homes. In fact, 100,000 children are waiting to be adopted in the US. A study found that children of gay couples were as well-adjusted as those adopted by heterosexual parents ( 2013). In addition, gay marriage may lead to more children being raised in same-sex households, which are an optimum environment to grow up. The report from the Australian Study of Child Health in Same-Sex Families said that 500 children raised by homosexual parents are not only excelling, but actually exceeding the levels of satisfaction of children raised by heterosexual couples (Haas 2013). Finally, children who is the physical and psychological health of gay couples is rated the same as children of heterosexual parents. According to Australian Study of Child Health research, children raised by homosexual parents have no measurable difference in self-esteem, emotional behavior and had fewer social problems (Haas 2013).
