I’m against same sex marriage is because gay marriage would weaken the community. I`m also against same sex marriage because if marriage is about populating the world then they wouldn`t be able to marry. I’m against same sex marriage because marriage is threatening marriage rates. Also because same sex marriage the couple might not love each other for ever and then they might get a divorce.
Also because how are you going to have kids if you wanted them, only opposite genders can make babies. I`m also against same sex marriage because there are plenty of good people out in the world and instead of marrying the opposite sex you want to marry the same sex as you that`s just foolish. I’m against same sex because it`s against some people`s religion to marry the same sex as you. I`m also against same sex marriage because gay marriage is not right. Another reason I`m against same sex marriage is because marriage is religious.
I am also against same sex marriage because you might have to hear about lifestyles that are different than yours. I’m against same sex marriage because most religions consider homosexuality a sin. I`m also against same sex marriage because I believe the gay lifestyle is not something to be encouraged. I`m also against same sex marriage because I believe it is better for a child to be raised by a mother and a father.
I’m against same sex marriage because if you wanted to have children then you wouldn`t be able to have any. I’m against same sex marriage because I believe that that is not normal for someone to do. I am also against same sex marriage because I believe that God would not want you to marry the same sex. I am also against same sex marriage because you’d have to deal with the stuff that people were saying to you. I am against same sex marriage because I believe that it`s a terrible idea to marry the same gender as you because I believe that` s a sin.

Some people are attracted the opposite sex whiles some are attracted to the same sex. A homosexual person is no different from heterosexual persons. Thus, homosexuals are to be given the permit to choose who they want to spend their life. If marriage is legally acceptable to heterosexual couples, it should be legalized for homosexual couples, because they have equal rights and must have equal opportunities. My opponent may describe marriage as a union between a man and a woman not a man and a man or a woman and a woman. My opponents may feel that gay marriage is an abomination in the sight of God and…

When it comes to same-sex marriage, I hold a very staunch position in supporting it and I claim to be an advocate for it. My opinion when it comes to same-sex marriage is that they are not harming anyone or anything by getting married and in fact I see that several same-sex couples that tend to be better parents then heterosexual married couples, such as my parents who divorced when I was in 11th grade because my mom was no longer in love my dad after 20+ years. Yet we have same-sex couples who never marry but stick by each other through the thick and the thin for as long as married couples. According to the book “Discrimination is an action—unfair treatment directed against…

This argument considers the rights of every person regardless of his or her sexual preference. Shell, (2004), writes “the issue of gay marriage can be reduced to the question of whether the desired union between homosexuals is more like a marriage between heterosexuals” (p. 1). Homosexual’s marriages seek the essence of marriage, in general as described above in a basic sense. A beginning step to define an approach to marriage is to discover methods that help individuals understand marriage. The similarity would be a human situation that simultaneously has a reasonable impartiality concerning respect to present-day conflicts such as homosexual’s marriages. Many people respect the concept of marriage, and acknowledge secure relationships; whether a man and a woman or same sex partners. The pros and cons are unbiased views that demonstrate the laws and civil rights for everyone. For example, disallowing marriage for gay couples or rejecting marriages for gay couples are mostly a religious belief. An example,…

Katha Pollitt, writer of “What’s Wrong with Gay Marriage?” depicts several reasons why people oppose to same sex marriage and among them, the most controversial reason is religion. Even though societies may think legalizing gay marriage will provide established homes for children who are left in orphanages and add financial earnings to state, marriage as it is, is between a man and a woman. Objection to gay marriage are based on religious prejudgment because a marriage of a man and a women is sacred and the approval of same sex marriage will disrupt the sacral institution, in fact, surveys demonstrate an outstanding connection of religiosity with opposition to gay marriage. Gay marriage is mismatch with religious beliefs, sacred texts, and traditions of many religious groups. The Catholic Church, Church of Jesus Christ, Evangelical Lutheran Church, Presbyterian Church, and other churches like these all oppose to same sex marriage. The expansion of same sex marriage may lead to churches being forced to wed couples and children being taught in school that same sex marriage is the same as opposite sex marriage.…

Gay marriages have been one of the hottest and controversial topics in our society. There are still problems concerning this issue of homosexuality and gay marriages. Same sex marriages are legal in Hawaii, but in all other states couples must be of the opposite sex to form a marriage. Hawaii’s decision to legalize same sex marriages is considered a milestone victory for gays and may cause a ripple affect for similar action in other states. Those who support gay marriages justify their position by the concept of love. These supporters of gay marriages feel as though gay people are being deprived of their right to love. Many people believe that gay people deserve the right to love and to take that love and form a marriage. These people believe that gays want to feel justified, meaning that as a couple they should be able to define their own marriage for themselves and make their own set of rules. Supports of same-sex marriages feel as though homosexuals are being deprived of their God given right to get married. They believe that arguments against same sex marriages are unconstitutional, and they simply do not justify a ban on same sex marriages. It is not the idea of two people of the same sex getting married that frightens people so much, but it is the thought of change and the fact that the federal government will redefine marriage to allow same sex unions. When people picture the results of same sex marriages, they see images of unstable homes. Everyone would probably agree that homosexuality has changed our society, and legalizing same sex marriages is not likely to be an exception. It would be an injustice to discriminate against a person if he or she were…

"Marriage is a coming together for better or for worse, hopefully enduring, and intimate to the degree of being sacred. It is an association that promotes a way of life, not causes; a harmony in living, not political faiths; a bilateral loyalty, not commercial or social projects.” (U.S. Supreme Court). Marriage has been defined as a religious & legal commitment between a man and woman, as well as an expression of love. Homosexuals have not been allowed to partake in these commitments and the rising support for same sex marriage is becoming more of an issue for the government and voters. There are those that are against same sex marriage, who believe that marriage should be strictly between a man and a woman (Barber), and then there are those who believe that it is up to the individual on whom they want to marry (Quindlen). Despite the complexities surrounding the issue of gay marriage and the expansive argument on either side authors Anna Quindlen and La Shawn Barber present extremely simplistic yet opposing views on same sex marriage.…

Eric Zorn’s newspaper article, “Change of Subject: The Top Six Arguments against Gay Marriage”, tells about six popular arguments against gay marriage, and explains how he believes each is not valid. Zorn wrote this article to persuade opponents of same sex marriage to agree that it should be legalized, and he informs about changes in our society and why he believes gay marriage should be one of these changes. Zorn is trying to tell how over time we have created and destroyed traditions and that gay marriage should be legal because it is harmless to society contrary to popular beliefs that it could lead to legalizing polygamy or that homosexuals have immoral behavior. The author’s bias is shown in this article to be pro same sex marriage because he believes it is not morally wrong because it does not harm anyone. Zorn also states in the introduction, “I 've been informally debating opponents of legalizing same-sex marriage for nearly 20 years…” (Zorn).…

Gay Marriage is one of those topics that used to make people uncomfortable, these days it has become less a feeling of discomfort and more of a heated standoff between those who support the change and those who do not. For me, I find nothing wrong with two people of the same sex having whatever type of relationship they please. After all everyone is entitled to their pursuit of happiness. Others seem to feel threatened; whether it is their personal beliefs or religious the topic is not anything they want to hear the other side of. I read a very insightful article outlining the ‘definition’ of marriage and what gay marriage would entail. This has helped me take a solid stance on whether I can support or be in opposition of ‘gay marriage’.…
