Salutatorian Speech
Good morning Ms. Reynolds, Mr. McNutt, teachers, parents and fellow graduates. I would like begin by thanking all of you, for being in attendance this morning. You are the impetus to it all. Through your open doors, you offered us the opportunity to learn in an environment of mutual respect and acceptance. To use the word support would be an understatement; you personally invested your time and energy to ensure that our own pursuits were made possible, within and beyond the classroom. Our aspirations and concerns became your own over the past few years, and through your invaluable support you have made us better people. On behalf of my classmates, and myself I would like to express my appreciation.

These wonderful graduates are more than my classmates; they are my family. I always think about our past, all the good times and those thankfully few bad ones; the laughter and tears we shared over the past 10 years. I began with some of you in kindergarten, others joined along the way. We all have grown up together and have changed each other for the better. We have stuck together, even though the rough times I am so proud of every single one of them and I love them all dearly. Each laughter-filled moment and friendship made has taught us what we need to move on, and has strengthened us as individuals I'm so blessed to have had them in my life and I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to have gone to such a wonderful school full of amazing people.

Let me just tell you all that today is no small feat. It perhaps is the most significant and life altering achievement most of you can claim to this day. Never hesitate to recognize how proud each and every person here today is for you to complete such a long and difficult task. Having worked for over ten years just for this moment, it is hard to ignore the determination, perseverance, patience, hard work and even sacrifice that embodies itself the attitudes of every graduate. The innumerable

I just wanted to take a minute to officially thank everyone who came out to my graduation over the weekend. When I first completed my initial degrees, I made a hard choice to not pursue medicine. I felt as if I failed myself and wasted time for a degree I would not use. I was worried my friends and family would feel the same, but it was the complete opposite. Their positive encouragement allowed me to gain confidence to go back to school for a degree I wanted. Even if some may not have been the happiest at the time, I still received support and love.…

I would like to welcome everyone here today. I would also like to thank the Board of Education, family members, teachers and friends for where the class of 2005 is now. I'd like to start with a quote from the song Celebration by kool and the gang, "There's a party going on right here, a celebration to last throughout the year, so bring your good times and laughter too, we gonna celebrate your party with you, come now let's all celebrate and have a good time, we gonna celebrate and have a good time." Today you are all sitting here on the verge of graduating; some of us are scared, some are overjoyed and some of us are saying hey it's just another day. Well what I am telling you is; take this day for everything that it's worth. This day represents…

Our Guest of honor, parents, friends, school mates. My dear co-graduates, teachers, staff, school administration, headed by Dr. Eulalia I. Marquez, District Supervisor – Imus, Cavite, Consultant. Mr. Arcangel Marquez, President. Ms. JadeleeI. Marquez, Executive Vice-President. The Board of Trustees, Ladies and Gentlemen. A very pleasant afternoon! Today is a memorable day for all of us because we have just ended an episode in our lives – elementary school life. Now, we are about to start a new chapter of our journey, the high school. Jose Rizal once said, “The youth is the hope of the motherland.” We studied in Great Mercy Academy so we could be equipped with adequate knowledge and skills in preparation for important roles we have to play in society someday, and most specially, to turn into reality the prophecy of our national hero, that we, indeed can be the hope of our beloved country, The Philippines. Now, I could simply say that we are empowered and productive student that could face new challenges towards new horizon. For I believe, that we are now equipped of all the things we need based from the experiences and trainings we had undergone from our Alma Mater. My dear co-graduates, the first step has been successful. “Ika nga, the roots of education is bitter, but the fruit it bears is very sweet.” The journey is long and laden with thorns but our accomplishments in this school are very rewarding. The patience and dedication each of us has…

A lovely evening to all! Tonight I may say, to all of us seniors, let us congratulate ourselves for we all have been doing so great to make this tale of our lives as fulfilling as we want it and as adventurous as we make it. In four years of staying here in this institution, I may conclude that counting the wonderful moments that we shared in our high school days is a mind-boggling thing because even the depressing ones that we lived through contributed in helping us to become what we are today. Yes, even being “pasaways” in front of our teachers, all are considered factors that made this experience complete and of course, a perfect one. And if we are going to look at it, everything happened in a blast but, much unnoticed. When I made my first footsteps in this school in the early days of my freshman year, one thing I can’t forget is our innocent selves, just like a blind person who seeks the right path, looking for the white light behind the darkness of that innocence. By all means, we looked for the knowledge we need and we craved for the wisdom we must possess before we depart from this home, from this family. We were so curious about all the things that we encountered everyday but we did not know to whom we must hold on and how to distinguish right from wrong. And because of such blindness, receiving only the radiance of the twilight, some succeeded in knowing all the essential things to be remembered and to be understood by the heart but others got lost and failed to know the indispensable truth of life. We have encountered many things as high school students but still, our journey will not stop after this stage. And I’m very proud that we never lose hope when failures and disappointments come our way. We defended what we love, and fought for what we believed in. And as for you, the juniors, in a few more days, your job will be to continue the unfinished tasks we will leave behind as we sail in our respective ships to discover new oceans. In behalf of the…
