At approximately 8:00 a.m. on April 25, 2015, Allana Johnson was traveling east on Sunshine St. intending to take US 65 south to Branson for work. As she got close to Lone Pine Rd, she glanced to the right at the intersection to be sure no one was going to make a right turn in front of her. It was all clear so she entered the intersection when a vehicle came out of nowhere directly in front of her. As a result, Allana had no time to react, and she violently slammed into the passenger side of the vehicle on the passenger side in a T-bone effect.…
Mark Holden who was hectically speeding over the speed limit overtook Marcia’s car at a very fast and dangerous speed. Speed limits are according to the road and its conditions so as soon as he went faster than the speed limit he was putting himself and other lives at risk. He ended up overtaking while veering off onto the side of the road, but while doing this his car kicks up a stone due to erratic and speedy driving. The stone hits Marcia’s windscreen which then cracked. If the crack was severe enough it could have caused Marcia to lose visual of the road and she could have crashed herself.…
Driving is inherently dangerous, especially when sharing the road with semi trucks. While you can mitigate this danger by increasing your following distance behind these big rigs, passing one on a multilane road forces you to drive within a few feet of it. Likewise, only a few feet separate you from oncoming trucks on a two lane road. Because you can't entirely avoid these situations, you have to trust that the truck doesn't lose control or otherwise harm you.…
Driver safety can save a life everyday. The most common mistake made is to assume that just because you’re a great driver or that you’ve had your license for so many years so you will not be in or cause an accident. That is completely false! There’s a reason it’s called an accident and it is because it can happen to anyone at anytime. Being in a car accident myself changed the way that I drive forever. Safety tips for being a cautious driver are:…

Many of today’s accidents occur because people tend to act ignorant, and do things they are not suppose to do while driving. Driving is a special privilege and skill, which includes paying attention to detail at all times, for the sake of your life and others. Most car accidents, with and without injuries are because people exceed the speed limit, using cell phones, and lack of attention. It is very sad that millions of innocent people lose their lives every year because of ignorance.…

Penny, my driving instructor, was sitting beside me reminding me to breathe and that I was doing great. As I turned onto the next road, I was relieved to realize we were headed back to Augusta and that we were almost done. I began to settle in while going at a comfortable speed of 50 mph down a straight smooth road. Soon, we entered the hustle and bustle of town and once again the tenseness and panic crept in. I was stopped at the traffic light just before the uneven, dirt driveway of “The Driving School.” The light turned green and I rolled up to the entrance of the driveway with my left blinker on, but a man with a baby stroller was slowly making his way across the parking lot.…
Traffic accidents kill young drivers and their passengers more than any other age group, partly because kids don't have the experience that older drivers have and also because kids do mindless things when they drive, sometimes due to peer pressure or just lack of awareness. Distractions such as cell phones, eating, grooming, talking, texting and fiddling with the radio can cause automobile crashes. Wearing seat belts can save lives in accidents. Driver education and practice make safe drivers. To promote safe driving at your high school or transportation business, plan safe-driving activities that call attention to these facts.…
J., Wickens, C. D., & Consalus, K. P. (2006) conducted experiments to show that in-vehicle tasks impact the drivers’ performance and visual scanning, which both affect safe driving. This article is a great source for information on how there are inside and outside distractions that can take place while driving and how the driver may be affected by these distractions. Vision is very important when driving and having both eyes on the road help us scan the road and see everything that is going on. A distraction in the car or out of the car may not take all of our attention but it does stop the ability to scan the road. This is something that needs to be done to be able to drive…
One of the most dangerous road hazards is drunk driving. People who drink any type of alcohol should never be allowed to drive because of their inability to focus as good as when being sober. Drinking and driving can put the person’s life at risk as well as other driver’s life on the road.…

To assume that in a case of an accident all the fault would be on the driver (defendant) is not fair, there are actions of the pedestrian (the victim) that can influence the accident as much as the driver can. Introducing…
If a car is driving along and swerves to prevent itself hitting a dog and that then causes damage to a lamp post and five other cars, then the car that swerved is the proximate cause.…
