SMAT Object Box Analysis
The teacher gave Henry an assignment to review the “SMAT” object box. Henry repeated the name and went to grab the materials on the shelf. He carried the box with his thumbs on top and four fingers underneath. He put the box on top and the lid to the left of the table rug. He took objects from the box and stated their names in a soft voice. He would say “Monkey, turkey…” and put them on the lid. Henry grabbed and examined an object and said, “This is star. S-star.” He placed it in the correct column under the letter S. He then continued to sort the rest of the materials. Henry reviewed the objects and stated, “S-star, soda skeleton…” After finishing his work, he raised his hand to report to the teacher. Henry sometimes smiles when he examines
