Leslie, Very good post! SMART goals are very important for someone trying to accomplish something in a relatively short period of time. Often times it proves difficult to set a timeline at the beginning of a big project. Although Alice had a very short term goal, she did not know what she wanted. This is an issue I have seen when working with kids a summer camp. During group leadership exercises, the kid who has been put in charge has an end goal in mind but does not know how to utilize their resources. I believe that time is the biggest factor for these kids, because they spend so much time trying to figure out what they want to do.
