Education is a fundamental tool to development and growth. From an early age we are taught that by having a proper education one can lead a life filled with opportunities. Education builds character and better prepares you for the future. As a member of the Association of American Universities, signifying its position as one of the major public comprehensive research universities in the U.S, Rutgers University is the only one of its kind in New Jersey. An education from such a reputable institution will not only aide in the advancement of my career, it will also prepare me with the knowledge and skills that is needed to be successful.
With the fast food industry on a rise people are more likely to consume and overindulge in foods that may not necessarily uphold any nutritional value. The obesity rate amongst Americans has become rampant and is a serious health concern in the U.S. today, comparable to smoking. It can significantly increase the risk for health problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. By pursuing a degree in Nutrition I will possess the knowledge and skills to educate individuals and groups about eating properly.
