A Cell Phone is More Than a Need of Life
By:
The most popular electronic device that is found in almost every single individuals hand in North America is a cell phone. People are dependent on it for almost every minute of the day, since technology has reached to a point where we can do absolutely anything with this magical wonder. They are used in urgent situations, along with helping people keep in touch with their loved ones. Overall, this is a remarkable device with many of its features to come in handy in everyone’s life. Cell phones come in handy during an emergency. First, if someone is driving and lands into an accident, most cars don’t have the “GM on star” button so they are most likely to use their cell phone to get help. Anyone can dial 911, and get the help they need in just a matter of seconds. Whereas if someone didn’t own a cell phone it would be very difficult to get help as fast. There are times where someone can be in a very critical situation where if they do not get the help they need as soon as possible they could potentially die. For example, if someone’s head got cracked open during the car accident they would immediately need help from the paramedics. Also, if there is an urgent situation, where you believe there is someone following you for example, and your life is in danger then cell phones are there as a tool. One can easily contact the police or a family member to seek help, and save their life. In contrast, if someone did not have a phone then the “stalker” has a better chance of getting a hold of you. It will make it hard for someone to escape a situation like this. Thirdly, cell phones also come in handy when you forget to inform your parents or friends about any new event coming up. For example, unexpectedly you have to stay after school to finish a test, and your mom and dad are not aware of it. Then you can use your cell phone to let them know. Overall, cell phones can be realistic in times of an emergency. In Canada everything is at a distance. Therefore cell phones help stay in touch with friends or family who live far away from them. For example, one can easily pick up their phone, and dial a loved one’s number to have a nice conversation. Despite, paying twenty-five to thirty dollars every month it is worth it in the end. If there were no cell phones then it would become very difficult to talk to someone who lives across the globe or in a totally different province or city from you. Also, if these devices were taken away for just one day it will make it extremely difficult for someone because we all rely on them, we are all dependent on them, and do not always appreciate the fact of actually owning a cellphone. It is a great invention that can help individuals stay in touch even though they might be at their home or out of town. There are many businesses that run just by talking on cell phones and producing products for different orders. There are large industries that communicate and confirm big deals just by talking through a cell phone. Especially, with someone who lives in a different country, that imports and exports products from another country just with the help of a cell phone. For example, most products in Canada that people purchase say, “Made in China”. The only way we get so many imports from China is because of the communication between the two countries. Without cell phones, it will make it very difficult for businesses to run the way they do, and will affect smaller businesses. This would be due to the lack of communication. Therefore, cell phones are very important for many different people in many different ways. While cell phones are an addiction and should not be allowed in classrooms, they are still very useful in the world after school. It helps at the time of crisis where one can get help and stay safe, it helps stay in contact with close ones, and improve business around the globe. This overall helps the economy grow.

One positive reason for having a phone is for convenience. Cell phones are a great way to contact parents while at school or after school activities. I could use my phone to contact my parents at school if they need to come and get me after practice or a game. I can also use a cell phone for away camps in the summer. Some camps will let campers bring a phone to check in with their parents at night. I have learned from my own experience that using someone else’s phone is not the best way to go. One last example is away games for sports. While I am on the road coming back from away games, I can call my mom or dad to tell them when to pick me up. Overall, owning a cell phone can be more convenient than borrowing someone else’s phone.…
