Our egg drop project that we named Eggpolo 6 was unsuccessful. During the drop, the two forces gravity and air resistance, or fluid friction, will act on the Mars lander. Gravity will be pulling the lander down towards the center of the Earth. But fluid friction will be pushing the Mars lander up in the air and slowing the lander down before it hits the ground. When it hit the ground the Eggpollo 6 gave the ground an action force. The ground gave a reaction force causing the Eggpollo 6 to bounce up after it hit the ground. Action forces and reaction forces are related because they are natural opposites and they don't cancel each other out because they are acting on different objects. During the drop, before it hit the ground, the potential…

The only end product of his mastermind tricks is an enormous welt on the head and the embarrassment of failing to reach his goal. In most cases, after failing so many times, one would believe that Wile or any other person in his situation would surrender, go home, and accept feats he could master. Wile is not the typical person, though. With a firmness of purpose, Wile E. Coyote hunts again for his foe. This character instills my admiration in his ability to think outside of the box. When one of his contraptions fails, Wile looks at options to create wondrous plans: He builds catapults, rockets, and even dynamite booby traps. His innovative thinking style has motivated me to adopt the same approach with school projects. When I was in kindergarten, I won second place at the state science fair for my project to determine the aerodynamics of a balloon rocket and the type of balloon best suitable for Wile Coyote to catch the Roadrunner. For weeks I studied the shapes of the balloons, researched wind effects on different shapes, and built a homemade balloon rocket. I could have done the standard “baking soda volcano” or “which bread molds the fastest,” but thanks to the inspiration of Wile Coyote I learned the value of…

    F. Scott Fitzgerald’s life and work were in a knot from the start; his profession spanned one of the most tumultuous eras of the century, and from the very start he was the creator and the victim of the new culture of celebrity which accompanied the rise of modern technology. Budd Schulberg masterfully created a character that closely and in many ways represents Fitzgerald in his later years; Manley Halliday is that character. “His mind’s eye, incurably bifocal, could never stop searching for the fairy-tale maiden who made his young manhood a time of bewitchment, when springtime was the only season and the days revolved on a lovers’ spectrum of sunlight, twilight, candlelight and dawn.”[Ch.10]. Fitzgerald had an interesting relationship with his beautiful wife Zelda Fitzgerald, in the novel Halliday’s was a flapper named Jere. Much of the novel’s center core is an up and close view covering the couple’s interactions, behavior, parties, and a lot of screw ups that do not shy away from Fitzgerads’ very own. Not only is there a connection between Halliday’s Jere but The Disenchanted introduced the subject of glamorized failure, in the scene when Manley Halliday is dying and thinks, “Take it from me, baby, in America nothing fails like success” [Ch. Slow Dissolve] he indeed, is the American failure.…

Sensory play and sensory devices have been around for a while now, and have been manufactured in order to help create a sensory input to calm and focus children with ADHD, ADD, or autism. Furthermore, are fidget spinners productive or are they just a distraction. Now, I tend to fidget a lot, I press my fingers against my palms, twiddle my thumbs, and sometimes, have a hard time focusing. This is only when i’ve been sitting a desk for a while, and I constantly feel the need to be doing something productive, or I feel like i’m wasting my time. The science behind fidgeting actually isn’t very complex. Said by Roland Rotz, “If something we are engaged in is not interesting enough to sustain our focus, the additional sensory-motor input that is mildly stimulating, interesting, or entertaining allows our brains to become fully engaged and allows us to sustain focus on the primary activity in which we are participating.” For example, If you are fully engaged in watching a baseball game in the bottom of the 9th, I’ll bet you're not fidgeting a lot because you're focused…

To ensure that an employer is reaping the greatest benefit from its applicant pool, the employer should be “disability-blind” and evaluate each applicant on the basis of her or his competence. This is true during all stages of employment, including the interview, hiring, employee relations, transfer requests, performance reviews, disciplinary decisions, and termination decisions. Follow the guidelines stated in section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act which requires affirmative action on the part of federal contractors and agencies to recruit, hire, and train disabled workers. Make facilities used by employees readily accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities. The employer generally has a duty to make “reasonable accommodations” to enable a disabled employee to perform the essential functions of the job, if the employer can do this without “undue hardship.” however; the duty of reasonable accommodation applies only where the disabled employee is otherwise qualified for the position.…

The mythology about rubies is vast and it varies. Some cultures associate it with the Zodiac sign of Capricorn (goat) and in other cultures, Taurus (bull). Most cultures consider the ruby as the birthstone for July. However, throughout the ages it has been associated with nearly every other month. Ruby's Day is Tuesday, it's season Summer, and it's apostle St. Matthew. Rubies are a traditional gift for 40th wedding anniversaries. In myth and magic, at the time of the Borgias (15-16th century), rubies were thought to counteract poison- and were therefore in high demand! In the Renaissance Era, rubies were associated with charity. Rubies also brought the wearer serenity and protection against injury. Some believed that rubies could ward off…
