Rosedale Equine Marketing
Recently, Australian people are growing the livestock industry day by day in which they are developing their business in animal production and marketing such as equine farming, fish farming and dairy farming. We have visited three livestock industries to broad our knowledge during livestock industries excursion trips. We visited Rosedale equine stud farm, 41 degree south Salmon farm and in the last Willowdene Dairy Farm. This report demonstrate the management styles of these farms like nutrition, genetics, health and marketing.
First of all, we went to the Rosedale equine stud farm owned by Criss and Jolly. They mainly focus on the breeding of horses by artificial insemination. Artificial insemination is the practice of artificial introduction

The fresh water feeds the salmon and carries organic waste produced by fish to wetland. This waste is filter through different levels of wetland which acts as natural filter and this water is reused in ponds. At this farm, they rear a variety of salmon called Salmo Salar. There are 20 ponds which contain around 10,000 fishes at a time. These salmon are harvested at a length of 45cm and marketed to mainly three companies as well as small restaurants, stores and shops. They also grow Ginseng and develop ginseng products such as Ginseng Bag which contain ginseng spice, ginseng honey and ginseng chocolates. They started development of growing ginseng in 1995 in Tasmania. Ginseng is the slow growing plant roots of panax ginseng whose name is derived from a Chinese word means ‘man-root’ looks like legs of a man. Ginseng is harvested after a long time between 7 to 15 years of age. Ginseng contains ginsenocide in stem and leaves which have different medicinal effects like general tonic, effect on immunological functions, and act as an antitumor (Tang & Eisenbrand 1992). They sell ginseng in the form of fresh and dried which is mostly use as food additive in various types of foods, drinks and cosmetics in small pharmaceutical companies and …show more content…
3- Advertisement of their business should be followed to increase business outcomes.
4- 41 degree salmon farm should be extended by area and number of ponds to increase the production and market place.
5- Farm multimedia advertisement will be help full to increase the number of visitors and customers ultimately raise business.
6- The number of cattles should be increase to enhance the efficiency of farm's area outcomes at Willowdene Dairy Farm.
7- During winter, good quality of feed should be provided to compensate with lack of feed.
8- The new technology of rotary parlour feeding system should be used to increase efficiency of milking and feeding.
9- High quality of breeding traits can be used by breeder such as health, milk and immunity traits.
10- Balance diet and high accuracy of breeding are required to enhance the number of cattle at farm
