A root canal procedure is usually done to remove bacteria from the infected pulp in your tooth. After the procedure, it is important to keep your teeth clean in order to prevent infection. Your dentist will typically give you anti-bacterial medicine and suggest salt water rinses. However, you can also decrease your chances of infection by eating foods that are rich in anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. These properties are great for treating and preventing infections. Therefore, there are a few foods you can add to your diet to ward off infection after your root canal procedure.
