Room 208 Golub
Room 208- Golub: Originally checked into room 309 but shortly after came back to the desk complaining that it was not the same room as last year, which was (324). We did not have an alternative options because the only available room with a view was pre-assign to another guest. Due to their reaction I was forced to unassigned the previous guest and give them room 208. I called the room to check and see how they were doing, and Mrs. Golub still didn't sound too happy. Additionally, before moving them I offered to adjust $50 off their room rate, which they were not satisfied with. I got them into a better room so the $50 was not adjusted off.

Immediately upon walking through the elegant double doors, the sweet aroma of butter envelopes the air around me causing me to rapidly salivate. The smell of nacho cheese accompanies the butter fragrance and I quickly begin to picture the many tasty treats behind the square concession area that is located in front of me. Candy galore is perfectly aligned behind the glass case further enticing my taste buds. A perfect temperature keeps me comfortable and makes me wish my home's temperature could be this perfect. One well groomed attendant generously overfills a striped bag with freshly popped popcorn and delicately hands it to a young boy standing next to his mother. Colorful posters line the walls around me, showing a glimpse into what lies behind the doors located down the hallways. The softness of the bench I am sitting on causes me to wonder if I am perched upon a cloud. Intermittent bursts of laughter can be heard coming from down the long hallways as well as in the lobby creating an atmosphere of endless fun. Smiling faces of children, teenagers, and adults quickly pass by me and I can hear the attendant quickly tear their perforated tickets as he happily says, "To the left, third door on your right."…

The family room was locked during my visit since it is getting remodeled. The staff mentioned that the Manager is converting it to an office. The first floor bedrooms are assigned to the two clients that spend most of their day in their rooms. One bedroom is assigned to a fifty year old African American male (client 1) that spent most of the shift in his room watching television. The second first floor bedroom is assigned to a thirty-three year old Caucasian male with down syndrome (client 2), that responded to staff from his bedroom in a joking manner. He watched television while sitting in a chair in his bedroom and playing his handheld game at the same time. The foyer of the home leads to the second floor where there was an office to the left of the top of the stairs, which has one of the two full size bathrooms. To the right of the stairs is a bedroom that belongs to a forty-four year old Caucasian male (client 3), that enjoys spending time with his sister and is part of the Special Olympics skiing, bowling, and track & field league. The other bedroom belongs to a fifty-two year old Caucasian male (client 4), who spent his time pacing the home as he held a cup of coffee and followed the staff and visitor. He smiled when eye contact was made with…

Although, the author uses ”intelligent” and “civilized” to explain that it’s ironic and her intelligence to show that if led her to commit suicide (Lessing 2762). However, this story starts in a very ironic tone by bringing up the failure of intelligence. Besides, the author, Doris Lessing by intriguing in the beginning of the story by mentioning that “This is a story, I suppose, about a failure in intelligence: the Rawlings’ marriage was grounded in intelligence (Lessing 2759). Although, she exposes on how women in the social structure were being created by a masculine discourse in the story. Doris Lessing uses “intelligent” to show that Susan is being appreciated as long as she conforms to the male definition of “intelligent” and is being treated as being abnormal once she was able to wear off the mask of so called an intelligent person. In “To Room Nineteen” by Doris Lessing, she does explain a woman who finds an ultimate fulfillment in in her marriage nor did her children and feeling trap by traditional gender roles, space and identity basically a room of her own (Lessing 2758.)…
