Love is a strong emotion that is accepting, appreciating, and wanting to make others feel good. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare shows that there are different types of love including idealistic love, parental love, and love between friends. Romeo and Juliet show idealistic love. However, Nurse, and Capulet show. there is also so a lot of hatred going around and a bad feud between the Capulets, and the Montagues. No one knows how the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues began but know it’s been going on for a long long time and is why there is more hatred the love in this story, scene, play, or etc… I would think that there is much to indicate that the play does focus on dislike more than love. "Sweet, sweet, sweet nurse, tell me, what says my love?" (RJ 2.5.55) In Zeffirelli's version of Romeo and Juliet, Act 2, Scene 5, Juliet seems bratty and impatient because the nurse fails to deliver the information about Romeo as soon as she walks through the door. Luhrmann made his version more modern, and makes the characters kinder to emphasize their relationship. These movies contain some similarities and differences; they both use some of the same lines, but portray the characters in diffrerent ways and the characters wear different types of costumes.…

Love and hate play significant roles in this famous Shakespeare play, without the hatred between the two families there wouldn’t be a problem with Romeo and Juliet’s love. The feud that the Montague’s and the Capulet’s have force Romeo and Juliet to either not be together or risk getting killed to be with each other. Nobody knows why the families hate each other, which is why Friar Lawrence thought that Rome and Juliet’s love would be enough to stop this feud. Although he was wrong it was a good idea and it could have very well worked.…

Love and hate is a powerful force for character’s motivation in the play. Romeo and Juliet’s love for each other is what leads them to defy their families and get married. Shakespeare’s use of emotive language,”Deny thy father and refuse thy name or if thou wilt not be but sworn by love and I will no longer be Capulet” exhibit just how powerful there love is. However hate is also a powerful driving force for the actions of character in the play. The hate between their two families Montague’s and Capulets leads their children’s death. Shakespeare’s use of this imagery “TYBALT Fetch me my rapier, boy. What dare the slave come hither, cover'd with an antic face to fleer and scorn at our solemnity? Now, by the stock and honour of my kin, to strike him dead, I hold it not a sin.” emphasise that there is the hate relationship between the two families Capulet’s and Montague’s Therefore we can see how hate is another driving force for character and many audience would relate this because it is explored commonly in modern days.…
