Romeo And Juliet And West Side Story Essay

Two stories of two love birds who were so deeply in love but, couldn’t be together due to the cruel fate. One story was based on a book and the other one was based on a poem. In face it is commonly known that Willian Shakespeare stole the story from a poem that was written by Arthur Brooke and West Side Story was kind of based of off Romeo & Juliet. Both stores are really romantic. Overall both of them are beautiful musical play/ movie.
The love birds met at the dance where they deeply fell in love at first sight. They deeply fell in love right away. The world seemed so beautiful. They felt as if each other were their world. Sadly, life always doesn’t go the you always want. They couldn’t be together due to family and friend rivalry. They wanted to overcome those differences by
Both stories clearly told us that. When you’re in love nothing seems to matter anymore but, there’s always going to be someone against it. In most case, it’s usually the family just like in Romeo & Juliet but in other cases it’s the friends just like West Side Story. On WSS, the feud was between gang, who was fighting to gain control over territory. On R&J, the feud was over family status. In both stories, no one wanted those two couple to be together, considering the fact that Tony and Maria wanted to elope and leave everything behind, while Romeo and Juliet on the other hand had no choice but to secretly get married. Death is something that can’t be avoided but love shouldn’t be the cause of it. On WSS, Tony dies because; he thought he had lost Maria, the one person whom he loved the most. Romeo and Juliet both of them died Maria on WSS had lived. Juliet stabbed herself because she couldn’t bare the fact that she was left alone while her dear love died. Maria on the other hand had showed that, what rivalry and hate can lead to. Nonetheless, they lost each other. What can be more painful than that, not being able to be with the one you loved the
