Romeo and Juliet

Have you ever fallen in love with someone you cannot be with? If you have, you have almost experienced what Romeo and Juliet went through. In William Shakespeare’s play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, two young people come together between feuding houses to fall in love, when they are parted but fighting once again. These people are a part of houses that do not come together, but despite that, they obviously do and you learn lessons between lovers, friends, and enemies. As a result of their actions, the unfair consequences were the ending of their lives. In Romeo and Juliet, two lovers show how far you would go to be with someone. Their love for each other killed the couple. If it was not serious, but it obviously would not have happened. The tragedy is that Romeo only killed himself because he believed that he could not be with Juliet. You know that Romeo was deeply in love with Juliet because he could not live without her. The same goes with Juliet because she took her own life as a result of Romeo’s death. “O happy dagger! this is shy sheath; there rust; and let me die.” (V.iii.169-170). They might be young but it is almost impossible to live without someone you truly love. Love and hate are the two most powerful emotions. You van love someone more than anything, but hate and fighting always wins and will eventually part you. A valuable lesson is learned when Romeo and Mercutio die; the value of friendship. Even though Romeo did not die for Mercutio, he risked his life for him. True friends stand up for each other, and that Is exactly what these two did. Romeo was in a “love frenzy” so he did not want to fight, but Mercutio was willing to risk his life for him and fight Tybalt. When Mercutio was killed by Tybalt, Romeo came out of his love block and stood up for Mercutio. Tybalt was dead in the blink of an eye. “Now, Tybalt, take the “villain” back again that late thou gavest me; for Mercutio’s soul is that a little way above our heads, staying for thine to keep him company. Either thou or I, or both, must go with him.” (III.i.127-131) even though Romeo knows he just got married, he still says that either he is going to die, or Tybalt is. Everybody knows he will not leave Juliet alone, so you can almost predict what they both know will happen. Romeo would not have gotten so angry if he did not truly care about Mercutio. You know you have a true friend when you risk your lives for each other. Love and friendship are two powerful feelings. When you watch fighting going on around you, you realize the lessons that can be learned, and there are a lot of them. Deaths between lovers show passion you can have for a person. Deaths between friends show how much love you can have for someone close to you. And lastly, deaths between enemies show how you can end up from hatred and fighting. Do not forget that fighting not only can, but will ruin lives.
