All About Me Essay

Aloha fellow classmates, my name is Laukoa Santos and I am in your period four English class. My friends and people know me as “Koa” which is short for my name. I am a family five and I am the youngest of them all. I am a very open guy to new friends and can usually make a conversation out of almost anything. Here are some of the hobbies I enjoy.
I have many different hobbies during and out of school. One of them is soccer. I usually play soccer everyday and I enjoy it a lot. I play competitively on and off island and will hopefully be playing on the varsity team this fall. When I am not on the field I am in the water surfing, or body boarding. Although there is not always a sick swell I just enjoy being at the beach. But school comes first before any of the hobbies that I had just mentioned.
One of my life goals involves becoming a professional soccer player. Although I know how rare the chances of getting that position are, I just hope for the best and study hard. Another goal of mine is to go to University Of California, Los Angelus or as many know it as “U.C.LA.”. I want to attend here because it has a great educational program as well as a great soccer and athletic program. This school is very hard to get into so I have to keep my grades up and keep training hard in soccer.
My feelings toward Kealakehe high school are very positive at the moment. I enjoy going to school here because the number of kids and the people you meet day by day. The only negative thing that I do not enjoy is the hour bus ride from Waikoloa to Kona everyday. Although the stress on the bus ride I feel good at where I am at and looking forward to a fulfilled, great year.
In conclusion, I hope to get to know my English class a little better and listen to what your interested in and out of school. If any of you guys want to talk or need help just ask and I will be their. As I have said before I am a very open guy and

If it weren't for Romeo’s actions, both he and Juliet would have never fallen in love, and never ended up taking their own lives. Romeo is most at fault for his death and the death of Juliet because Romeo should have listened to Friar Lawrence. He should not have fallen in love with Juliet so easily, and he should have respected the feud between the two families and stayed away from the Capulets.…

"Romeo and Juliet" is a play written by William Shakespeare about love, friendship, and tragedy. The story is set in Verona, Italy where two people fall in love. However, the two lovers, Romeo and Juliet, are from families who despise each other. Romeo is dead-set on marrying Juliet, to the point where he'd do anything for her. This becomes a dangerous factor because he is also extremely impatient. Romeo's friend, Mercutio, has more of a level head which amplifies Romeo's flaws. Mercutio's realistic mindset highlights Romeo's dreamy, romantic thinking. Mercutio's common sense magnifies Romeo's impatience that ends up killing him in the end. The comparison of the two characters brings out the imperfections of our tragic hero, Romeo.…

It’s not uncommon for young children to look up to their elders for advice or guidance in a tough situation, but being misguided in a conflict can lead to an even larger predicament. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the death of main characters can be rooted at the deluded advice from supposedly wise mentors. These mentors were Friar Lawrence and the Nurse, whose intentions were pure, but whose advice could be considered otherwise. Friar Lawrence and the Nurse unintentionally mislead Romeo and Juliet, which ultimately was the driving force behind the extreme actions they made throughout the play. This misleading advice is shown when Friar Lawrence marries Romeo and Juliet, when the Nurse gives Juliet marriage advice, and when Friar Lawrence convinced Juliet to fake her death.…

He has to confess his newfound love. The fact that Romeo goes to Friar as soon as he meets her, shows that Romeo confides in the Friar. Even the fact that his newfound love is the daughter of Romeos family’s enemy, the Capulet’s, does not stop Romeo from confessing his love to the Friar. In Act 3, scene 3, Romeo goes to Friar Lawrence to see what his punishment for stabbing and killing Tybalt. Romeo calls Friar “Father”, “Father, what news? (Shakespeare 141)”. Friar calls Romeo “son”, “Too familiar is my dear son with such sour company (Shakespeare 141)”. How they address each other is very appropriate for their relationship. Throughout the…

Conflict and violence in the play are presented in a variety of different ways. Throughout the play, there runs this idea of a conflict between love and hate- the key part of Romeo and Juliet’s problems. This conflict in part leads to the violence of the play, with the feud providing the catalyst for events such as Mercutio’s death and the demise of the star-crossed lovers. Interpreting conflict as a discord of feelings, actions, and events, the play shows how conflict creates an atmosphere of violence that permeates their language and actions. Violence begets violence, causing a chain reaction that ends in tragedy. There is a contrast between the internal nature of the conflict and the physical nature of the violence within the play.…
