The United States and the Roman Empire share many differences and, even more, similarities. Some are evident while others are hardly noticeable. The Roman Empire faced attacks from the Huns like we face attacks from terrorists. Natural disasters caused many deaths and they still do today. The Romans lack of care and negligence for their well-being cost them in battle. The same will probably happen to us. It may not really seem like it but the United States is following in the footsteps of the Roman Empire. The similarities of the foreign threats, natural and environmental disasters, and laziness may be what will cause the fall of the United States. In the United States, one major issue we face is terrorism threats. This is similar to how the Roman Empire faced threats from the Huns. The Romans saw the Huns as savages and monsters, just like how we see the terrorists. Every day we live in constant fear waiting for the next terrorist attack just like The Romans waited for the Huns to attack. The constant attacks from the Huns weakened the Roman Empire. The constant attacks from the terrorists are slowly weakening the United States too. Terrorism could possibly be what will end the United States. We could also be biased about the terrorists like the Romans were about the Huns. The Huns
Earthquakes, floods, and diseases slowly killed off the Romans. We currently face many natural disasters too. Some main ones were Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Katrina. Pollution is probably the biggest problem in the Unites States. If we keep polluting the area we live in will become unsanitary. This will cause unhealthy environments and sickness or death. The Romans also faced deadly diseases that spread from southern Asia. This is quite similar to the Ebola outbreak and the lead problem in Flint, Michigan. If mass populations of people keep dying from these causes, we will not have people to fight in future
