SUMMARY /ABSTRACT:
This report is for academic purpose. It was assigned to me as an assignment and project of our course “Business Policy and Strategy” This report tells about the role of Information Technology in Business Competition. Information technology is any field that involves computer technology. This includes hardware maintenance, software development, networking solutions and technical support. Modern businesses all over the world rely on computers to function and maintain high standards of efficiency and customer service. Information Technology in almost every business due rapid transformation of data, to increase the efficiency, to do multiple tasks at the same time, due to its low cost and to increase number of entrepreneurs in market. Furthermore, this report tells about practical study of Habib Bank Limited. Information Technology used abundantly in daily operations of HBL. This report describes the vision and mission statement of HBL and does its SWOT analysis.

INTRODUCTION;
We use the term information technology or IT to refer to an entire industry. In actuality, information technology is the use of computers and software to manage information. In some companies, this is referred to as Management Information Services (or MIS) or simply as Information Services (or IS). The information technology department of a large company would be responsible for storing information, protecting information, processing the information, transmitting the information as necessary, and later retrieving information as necessary.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
Information technology is any field that involves computer technology. This includes hardware maintenance, software development, networking solutions and technical support. Modern businesses all over the world rely on computers to function and maintain high standards of efficiency and customer service. Without IT professionals, companies would not have qualified professionals to help maintain the technological elements inherent to their daily business needs.

WHY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
