Seven-years-old Shirish Pathak was turned away from the examination hall on Thursday by the school management.

Shirish was admitted to the school under RTE provisions in 2014. According to his father Prabhash Pathak, the school authorities have been harassing his son ever since. Yet, the education department is shying from taking action as Rajkumar College is among the most prestigious educational institutions of the state.

“We are trying to talk to the school administration for past four months. Earlier, they delayed the matter citing the bad health of the principal. Now, our child has been humiliated. This has caused our family a lot of mental stress,” he said.

The school authorities, on their part, have complained that the government is not paying the fee of the students enrolled under RTE on time.

“It is not possible that a student would be prevented from appearing in examination just because he has not paid the fees. I am not personally aware of the matter,” said the school vice-principal Shivendra Nath Shah Dev.

Meanwhile, District Collector Thakur Ram Singh has instructed the District Education Officer (DEO) to resolve the

The temple took 15 years to complete. It was constructed between the 7th and 22nd years of the queen’s rule. The structure was constructed of limestone, unlike others in its time that were constructed of sandstone. It had a very long colonnaded terrace that deviated from the center of the structure. The reason for this was caused by the central location of the burial chamber. The structure itself has 3 layered terraces that reach 97 feet tall. Each story was made up of a double colonnade of square piers.…

For almost six decades the movement had been changing colour and strategy to gain a foothold. Gradually, the Jharkhand Party grew politically stronger but the commissions examining the demands for a separate Jharkhand State rejected it one after another. In August 1947 the Thakkar Commission rejected it saying that it would not be beneficial for the Adivasis. In 1948 Dar Commission also examined the demand for a separate Jharkhand state but rejected it on linguistic grounds. Despite these reports of these commissions going negative in nature, Jharkhand Party never lost sight of its ultimate target: a separate state of Jharkhand. Jharkhand Party contested the 1952 elections with a declared aim of strengthening the demand of a tribal homeland and won 32 seats in the Bihar Assembly. In the second General Election in 1957, too, Jharkhand Party won 32 seats and for two terms the party remained the leading opposition party. In 1955 the Report of the State Reorganisation Commission came out. Here, too, the demand for a separate Jharkhand state was rejected. In the third general election in 1962 the party could win only 23 seats in the Bihar Assembly. Personal interests of the Jharkhand leaders started playing upper hands. The following year Jharkhand Party aligned with Congress and Jaipal Singh became a minister in Vinodanand Jha's government in Bihar. With this, the demand for the Tribal Homeland was put into cold storage for nearly a decade.…

    Why Quaid Left Congress

In 1913 the Quaid-i-Azam joined the All India Muslim League without abandoning the membership of the Congress of which he had been an active member for some years. But this membership of the two organizations ended in December 1920. On the occasion of the special session at Nagpur the Congress adopted a new creed which permitted the use of unconstitutional means and decided to resort to non-violent non-co-operation for the attainment of self-government. The new policy and programme in essence envisaged withdrawal of the students from schools and colleges, boycott of law-courts by lawyers and litigants as well as the impending elections to the legislatures under the Government of India act 1919 either as voters or as candidates.1 The new philosophy of the Congress had been shaped almost entirely under the influence of Gandhi who had, by then, emerged as a commanding figure in Congress politics. Although there were many prominent Congressmen such as C.R. Das and Lala Lajpat Rai who did not subscribe to the programme of non-co-operation2, Jinnah was the only one in a crowd of several thousand people who openly expressed serious disagreement.…
