Rockland Community College Personal Statement

Ever since high school, I have struggled with school. After graduating high school, I graduated with a 1.7 GPA. I always knew I was an average student, so I accepted my GPA proudly. However after entering college, everything changed. I knew everything was going to be more difficult and demanding. Beyond all the hardships of academics, I was also going to have to pay for all of education by myself, because my parents could not afford it. This adversity made it extremely difficult for me to decide if I wanted to continue my education and enter college. However, despite my finical struggle I decide to continue my education and apply for college. I applied to Rockland Community College, where I wanted to work on increasing my GPA. After two unforgettable years at Rockland Community College, I gained my associates in Math and Science. During my time at this college, I managed to recognize my full potential, and received outstanding grades every semester. Although many times I had some difficulties, I continued to push myself more and more each day. Fortunately, I had some help. I had this anatomy and physiology professor who changed my entire perspective of education. She had strong character, and was extremely intimidating. In addition, I have an extraordinary personality and great social skill. I currently work with children at both a pediatric dentist office and a physical therapy office. I also love helping others make the right decision and helping people develop different solutions to solve their problems. I know my skills will unquestionably allow me to become a successful Occupational therapist. Therefore, I know by getting accepted in to this program, I will gain the valuable attributes I need to finalize my plans to break into the field of Occupational Therapy as my life-long
