The Latin GRAMMY awards are approaching and the academy announced the ‘Person of the Year’ performers honoring Roberto Carlos.
In addition to the previously announced artists, the Academy announced more acts on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Julieta Venegas, Leslie Grace, Malú, Seu Jeorge, Melendi, Maluma and Ana Carolina are confirmed performers for the prestigious event. The Latin Recording Academy’s 2015 honoree is Roberto Carlos. Celebrating his artistic and social contributions, the gala is taking place at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center on November 18. Resembling prior years, Las Vegas will gather a wide range of Latin artists to present tribute to “The King of Latin Music”.
Roberto Carlos is a Brazilian singer- songwriter who has sold over 120 million albums around the world. Along his successful musical career, for over 55 years Roberto Carlos has acquired recognition as one of Brazil’s most influential artists, a Sony Music award for selling over 100 million records and thousands of fans around Latin America and world.

Additionally, This year's Lifetime Achievement Award honorees are Gato Barbieri, Ana Belén and Víctor Manuel, Angela Carrasco, Djavan, El Gran Combo De Puerto Rico, and Pablo Milanés. This year's Trustees Award honorees are Federico Britos, Humberto Gatica and Chelique Sarabia. The 16th annual Latin Grammy Awards live streaming will begin on Nov. 19 at 2p.m. through Univision.com and LatinGRAMMY.com. Following, the awards will air live on Univision from 8p.m. to 11p.m. Latin GRAMMY En Vivo will be hosted by Kike Posada, Nastassja Bolívar and Carolina

    I saw La Pasion Flamenca in Stratmore Music Center on February 14, 2013 performed by Flamenco Vivo dance company from New York. It was a full house performance, and I watched a wonderful show under the founder and artistic director of Carlota Santana. Under her direction, company enriched its repertory and included dances from different Latin countries, such as Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Colombia, to its major performance about flamenco. Carlota Santana uses flamenco to build bridges between cultures, and while she is doing that innovative music, exotic movements, artistic power and passion electrifies the audience.
