Roads or Public Transportation?
Nowadays public transportation is the question of vital importance for dwellers of big cities as well as for habitants of small towns. People face serious problems of traveling around the city using public transportation. At the same time, people who own cars also suffer from poor roads and endless car accidents. Should government care more about public facilities of buses and trains and subways or invest more money on fixing roads?
Below I would like to point out two sides of this complex question.

First of all, I consider the fair point to spend more money on improving public transportation. There are a lot of people with disabilities suffering from unavailability to travel simply because there is no facilities and possibility to move around with a wheel chair. Public buses and trains and also subways do not provide special seats and entry. For young parents it is almost impossible to travel around the city with the stroller. In my city for example, it is very rare when subway has the special steps for stroller. I think government should take into great consideration such obstacles and improve adequately the conditions of trains, metro and buses.
At the same time, people have to think about road system and how to make them suitable for people with disabilities and children. There is a well-known fact that roads, for instance in my city, right now are not so broad. In fact in some districts there is no pass for pedestrians. That is why Government has to consider the solutions for improving road system not only for regular people , but also for kids, people with disabilities ,young parents.
Besides better public transportation gives people opportunity to use bus instead of car. This will significantly reduce level of air pollution.

On the other hand, it is essential to care about road system. It has been reported every day from various resources about numerous car accidents appear due to the bad roads, halls and poor lighting system. From this point

Not only do people have to pay for high parking prices and fuel, but also the expense incurred when they take their car to the garage to have it repaired. Unlike private cars, public transport has reserved lanes in many cities; so long delays due to traffic congestion can be avoided by taking a bus or a taxi. As far as the environment is concerned, the use of public transport instead of private cars makes a difference. For example, if the people who use a bus were to use their own vehicles instead, this would definitely contribute to air pollution.…

To a large extent, I think the interests of the whole society should take priority over personal interests. The prime reason is, the development of the transport infrastructure is an issue related to all the citizens, and the transport infrastructure is belongs to the public, therefore, the interests of the whole society should be considered first. The society has the shared ownership, but not only considers and concerns one’s interest. Although the government should strike a balance between the interest of different social group, and pay attention to the minority, the government should not sacrifice the majority which would trigger riot and harm the social harmony. Therefore, the interest of the whole society is much important.…

Man’s wants are limitless while his resources to fulfil those wants are limited. Not every individual who desires a vehicle can afford to purchase one. This is the main reason for the existence of Public Transportation Systems. Individuals may choose to buy the basic necessities over buying a luxury good such as a private vehicle. This directly relates to an economic principle referred to as Opportunity Cost, which explains what must be given up as the result of a choice. It is more economic for some to forego ownership of a private vehicle than to go without food, paying mortgage or paying bills.…

Many people take public transport. There are some reasons on why it should and should not be free. Some reasons on why it should be free include: everyone can have access to transport and when there is an emergency people can easily use public transport without its fee .There would also be less traffic as more people would be using public transport which would also decrease pollution within the air and reduce traffic noise. The reasons on why it should not be free are: the Government will have to pay for the transports to operate which would decrease their chance on funding things such as Health Care and Education. Crowding may also happen inside the transports and the more people using public transport means more transport vehicles would have to be used and some could be older and dirtier than others.…

Furthermore, they need to make rules to pay a fine if people use a petrol car in the city.…
