Teenage Birth Rate Rises

Do you know where your tax dollars are being spent? Every year the government is spending tens of millions tax dollars on programs that hurt our children, mainly abortions. Abortions rates have risen over the years because teen sex rates have also climbed and the condom use rates has plummeted. Therefore, the most important issue facing our nation's young people today is the use of abortion as a means of contraception. In this piece we will explore the increase/ decrease rate of abortion. Like how young women who become pregnant are highly educated about contraception but want to have babies. According to the article entitled “teenage Birthrate Rises for the First Time Since 91”. the focus is centered on how teenage birth rates are driven by rates of sex, contraception and abortion. Teenage sex rates dropped and condom use rose because teenagers were scared of aids, as stated in the article “ abortion rate increased among poor women, even as it decreased among most other groups”. Poor women, specifically those with family incomes less than 100% of the federal poverty level. According to the document “ poor women accounted for 42% of all abortions in 2008, and their abortions rate increased 18% 2008 and 2012, from 44.4 to 52.2 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15-44”. Abortions rates decreased 18% among African American women in the same period, the largest decline among the four racial ethnic groups examined. The abortion rate among African American women is higher than the rate for both Hispanic while women; 40.2 per 1,000, compared with 28.7 and 11.5 respectively. Studies also estimate that given the current abortion rate, nearly one in 10 U.S women of reproductive age will have an abortion by age 20, one- quarter by age 30 and nearly one-third by age 45.
