New System Proposal 2
Riordan Manufacturing in search of a new system to improve it business and how it operates day to day. Although there are many different systems, finding one that is both cost effective and expandable to their future needs is important to the success of the organization.
By implementing an enterprise resource planning system, Riordan Manufacturing will be able to do multiple functions with one cost effective system, instead of having a multitude of different systems to perform individual functions. By running the resource planning system with a wireless network, the system will be both easily expanded as well as add the capability to introduce wireless scanners to help aid in the tracking and scanning of inventory. The company’s current computers can also be easily added to the new system in order to keep costs at a minimum, as long as they meet the minimum requirements needed to run the system. Although there are many different resource planning systems, there is a large possibility that the system may require some customizations in order to meet all the required tasks that it will be utilized for (“ERP Systems”, 2011). With the new system, Riordan will be able to track inventory, perform cost analysis, and perform day-to-day functions that are required by the organization. This will allow for the Riordan to streamline their systems to become more cost efficient as well as reduce the time it takes to perform inventory. Check out the layout of how the new system would be laid out above.
