Right of passage
Right of passage is a traditional ceremony that marks a transition point in a persons life Right of passage usually have a form of ritual showing the change from roles in the community .An example of right of passage is an quinceanera . Quinceanera is a celebration celebrating the transition into womanhood . Quinceanera has many parts and and rituals throughout the ceremony , each one is very important in its own way having different meanings for each of them ("hallmark")
The transition from child to women is a big thing in all cultures but , in hispanic culture they calibrate the coming of age with a Quinceanera also known as a sweet 15 . Quinceanera celebration is believed to have begun a very long time ago when Spanish people brought the traditional celebration to Mexico and others believe the tradition originated from the late Aztecs . ("joyfuleventsstore.com") . In Aztec culture the Quinceanera was a preparation for women being ready to be married . Now in present day the Quinceanera is a simply a gathering of family and the acknowledgment of a young girl becoming a woman and a time for her to gain some independence . ("myths of latin America ")
The church in most Central American countries play an important role in the ceremony , also it plays an important role in the ceremony in certain parts of mexico and puerto rico. Quinceanera was church turned event to acceptance of God in their life and also giving their life to become good Christian wives also mothers.
