“PRO-RH = ANTI RH”. These two popular arguments of some groups have been concluded recently. Last July 23, 2013- the reproductive health bill otherwise known as RA10354 was amended. Yet still, the effectively of this controversial law together with the ANTI-RH movement continues to question its purpose. RA 10354 with its advantages continues to strive for the betterment of each and every Filipino household. Thus saying RA 10354 is effective.
We can’t deny the fact that several groups are still against this law. They keep on saying that RA 10354 is not our country’s solution to poverty. They think that poverty is not caused by over population. And that people who are in favor with this law blames poor for poverty.
Poverty is not caused by the poor? WRONG! In a recent study, 20% of the population doubles the poor’s children. This law continues to improve Filipino lifestyles. RA 10354 is for the poor, uneducated and for woman who plays an important role in this world.
Groups who are against this law think that it is biased on the side part of the church. They believe that the law focuses on teaching to control and legalize abortion- which is killing. It is against our moral values. In contrast with this law is a verse in the Bible saying “go and multiply” (Genesis 9:1). They said that RA 10354 destroys the chance of teenagers to be our country’s future by giving then that contraceptive mentality.
Favoring this law is not a sin. The Philippine Medical Association (PMA) condemns illegal abortion. RA 10354 continues to spread the benefits of family planning, not abortion. It is in our faith and culture. If you bare a child, you must be empowered to provide their future hope. This law values human rights. Therefore, the basic rights of woman and children should be improved.
Anti RH doubt the fact that the Philippines is over populated. They said that there is no declaration and no ecological study that we are over populated. Our human capital itself is the perfect
