Revenge Is Not Justified Analysis
The play Hamlet is a play about revenge. In the play Hamlet, it leads me to believe that revenge is not justified in any way. Because Claudius dies, Hamlet dies, Ophelia, Horatio all die at the end of the play.

The first reason why the Hamlet play is proof that revenge is not justified. Hamlet is the main character of the play trying to figure out how to get revenge on Claudius. Claudius killed hamlets father by pouring poison in his father's ear. In order to become the new king of Denmark. And to steel the old kings wife.

During the second act, Hamlet finds out that Claudius killed Hamlets father. Hamlet found this out by his father's ghost who was in armor. At first Hamlet could not figure out why this happened or if he could believe

Hamlet has a moment to kill Claudius before he leaves for England but questions himself and his actions. He then leaves only to return after finding a letter of his execution and being “attacked” by pirates. Claudius and Polonius’s son, Laertes, have come up with a plan to kill Hamlet when he arrives. They are going to challenge him in a fencing battle with poison at the end of the sword. If this plan fails, they will have poisoned wine for Hamlet to drink.…

    The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark by William Shakespeare is one of the most famous and influential tragedies of all time. Shakespeare wrote Hamlet—and most of his other tragedies—at the beginning of his career in the early 1600s (Shakespeare’s Career). The tragedy genre was developed long before Shakespeare. A central idea of the tragedy genre is that the audience must favor the protagonist, but the protagonist must be flawed and capable of both good and evil (Revenge in Hamlet). In the tragedy, Hamlet thinks instead of simply turning to rage for his revenge. The plot of the play is that Hamlet is unable to commit revenge on Claudius. Hamlets inability to take revenge—avenging the death of his father-- creates a plot where Polonius, Ophelia, Gertrude, Laertes, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern all die in the process(Jamieson). The reason for the destructive nature of Hamlet’s revenge was not caused by the delay—or the fact the he was taking revenge alone.
