Rev Billy Graham
Rev. Billy Graham has revealed the reason why some young Christians abandon their faith later on in life, and also gave parents tips on how to raise their children in a godly way.
On Tuesday, Rev Billy Graham responded to a question posted on The Kansas City Star by a woman who overheard a man in an adjacent restaurant table discussing his family. The young man said they were very religious during his younger years, but later on, all of them have abandoned their faith.
The 97-year-old American evangelist pointed out two main reasons why Christian children lose their faith in God and abandon their church. The first one is shallow faith. He emphasized the importance of the tandem between faith and commitment.
The second reason for abandoning God is that they do not realize that their faith and relationship with God need time and effort in order to grow. Graham quoted Luke 8:13 from the Bible and said some people’s faith are easily shaken during difficult times.

This paper looks at how spiritual maturity and growth can develop through a lifetime. The goal is to show how human development theories relate to Christian Maturity. Piaget’s cognitive developmental theory has guided us through stages of cognitive development in a secular worldview. By looking at the way God intend us to live and grow spiritually and our life experiences; we can see God’s guidance and directions in the formation of how a Christian matures. It’s also important to look at the influences of scripture and the Holy Spirit in developing Christian Maturity. By relating a worldly view of personal development with God’s guidance and direction not only through scripture but in our life experiences as well, we can show how a Christian’s life matures spiritually.…

Children carry a young, pure faith in the specific religion they are raised into. They also tend to take metaphors in very literal senses because children do not fully develop the ability to rationalize until late teens to early adulthood. Weeks before the end of a great rival and the special meeting to "bring the young lambs into the fold", Hughes's aunt talked grandly of seeing lights and seeing Jesus while being saved. "She said you could see and hear and feel Jesus in your soul", states Hughes, who goes on to say he believed not only her but the other older members of the church. Forcing things upon children that they are not mentally ready for is why the entire church is responsible for Hughes's loss in faith.…

The Evangelistic ministry design, will take the unchurched back to the beginning of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelations, and allow God to take on the battle of any given concern of lostness, hurt, or the pain of life, at any stage. The unchurched of the community then expects the miracles that only God is capable of, through faith, to heal and address added concerns.33 Bible-based counselors of the evangelist ministry will teach adults who find themselves in a situation where life has become unbearable and in some cases overwhelming, well-studied coping methods. Unfortunately, the Christian who seeks counseling, encounters the how, who, what, and why God is, has been challenged. In relation to Floyd Barackman’s findings the mindset of humankind suffers greatly when decisions and lifestyles are lived without God. Barackman states, “God is reliable and the qualities of His nature are…

Throughout ones journey in life, our individual perceptions of faith in God, in mankind, and in ourselves, guide us along our path. In life our faith is what keeps us going. A person 's faith is not necessarily their religion, but can also be what they believe in or morals. Often times in life, events or people cause a person to lose faith in what they are doing or even in themselves. For example, a player on a football team goes into a game with their mind set on winning. During the game they lose the best player on the team on the first play of the game and the other team scores within seconds of the start of the game. Events like that during a game is enough to cause many players on the team to lose faith in themselves as well as the team. Our faith can also determine whether or not we overcome an obstacle in life. If a person believes strongly enough in what they are doing he will almost always come out of a situation victorious. In the Young Goodman Brown, his faith is tested throughout the story.…

Based upon my own meager understanding of theology and faith, I grew up with the belief that because I had been baptized as a child and attended church with my family then I would go to heaven when I died. Yet as I grew older I came to realize that this was not the case. I finally came to realize that just going to church did not give me the right to go to heaven. I had to have faith to get to heaven. Luther illustrates this point by noting the passage of John 11 [:25], "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live" (188). I came to realize that my going to church was only a "work" and that this alone would not offer me salvation.…
