I decided to return back to school now because I am more stable in life than I were when…
Pregnant at seventeen and no foundation of stability, I dropped out of school to prepare to raise my child. I then began to struggle and had a hard time making ends meet, so at that time I got on track to seek help and guidance. I started the process to get enrolled in school but backed out due to finding out at nineteen I was expecting my second child. I finally went back to school and got my GED and graduated my program in summer of 2010. I walked across the stage to receive my diploma carrying my son Joziah Jah’Von (5 months) and holding my daughter Ajiona Amory’s hand (2 years). I was very proud and felt extremely accomplished. The importance returning to school will have on my life is that I will be able to provide a stable life for my children, become successful and self-fulfilled through a career in business, and rise above the negative expectations some people have of me.…
After all the compliments I had received that really got me to think about going back to school. I finally decided to go back to school. First things first I’d have to get my GED before I could even go back to college. Not only that, fall college classes started in two months and that was not a lot of time. So I set up the GED…
In my life I have made many important decisions and the most important decision I have made was to continue my education after graduating from high school. During my senior year of high school I did not know what to do with my life like many other high school seniors feel like when they are nearing graduation. Did I want to go to school and continue my education?, did I want to join the military and serve our country or enter the workforce and become a nine to fiver. In the end I ended up a couple heuristics in my decision making process.…
Life is an interesting journey full of unforeseen situations that can alter our initial plans. During my years in high school my parents always reminded me of the importance of aspiring to be the best I could be and, as a result, I would be able to accomplish anything. I took their words to heart. I studied hard, performed extremely well and finished with a 3.5 GPA and in the top 25 percent of my high school class. I was the recipient of many scholarships and awards and was part of many extracurricular activities as well. I even made time for my new job at Walgreens as a beauty advisor. I was extremely delighted to see that my hard work had paid off and I was finally on my way to college.…
What stimulated my interest in returning to school? One of my goals in life was to get my four year college degree. After I graduated with my AA degree, I concluded that "the learning bug has bitten me"! I wanted to continue my education and decided to continue by enrolling to the University of Phoenix Online.…
There are many reasons as to why I have decided to return to school. There are many…
Ever since I was 18, I'd been working full time to support my family. My step-dad left my mother and my half brother as soon as he was born, therefore I was the only adult male in the family. Our family lived on my income alone, so I could not afford to go to college at the same time. For four years, I let my educational goals to be on hold.…
A decision my family and I had to make was whether on not I should return back to university to further my education. After our youngest daughter started kindergarten I felt that I had some extra time to either start working part time or to continue studying. Continue studying was the best option as it will help in the future by increase my chanced for better employment with better financial benefits. After making the choice I then had to find the best solution for my needs, reviewing all the options of either going to university full time or doing online classes, which institute to choose and what degree to complete. We also had to consider the financial and time commitment associated with the choice. This completed the first three…
Now, that it is the end of the semester it is easy for me to say, “I should have done this, instead of that.” However, foresight can be quite difficult when laying out your education goals. Luckily, after our first conference I had found areas in which I see myself striving as a good student. I am now working on education satisfaction, asking for help when I need it, and working on my personal achievement goals.…
I decided to return to school to further my education for many important reasons. I have struggled tremendously in the past with my five children and I wanted to change that life style for good. I am so very tired of trying to make ends meet and not being able to provide for my children like I want to. I have always been a strong, but big hearted person. I know that this decision on returning to school to complete my educational goals is one of the best choices I have made in my life and will benefit me and my family in the long run.…
I decided to return to school for personal reasons. Returning to school is something that I have thought of doing for a very long time. I guess you could just say that I have been very lazy and procrastinated for a long time. I tried to go to college right out of high school but it did not work out. I thought it was all fun and games and ended up flunking out. I was headed down the wrong path and working in a dead end job. I decided it was time to do something with my life. I wanted to get out of my dead end job. I am now ready to take this important step in my life. I knew it would help me to grow as a person. Most of all I want to better me as a person. That is my motivation for…
Returning to school was a truly hard, scary, and exciting decision for me to make. Everything in my life had to be considered including my children, husband, work, and all my other obligations. With returning to school I am hoping to improve myself on a personal and work level. So I am returning to school because I already do the job but currently not being paid for it without a degree.…
If I would have stayed in school life would have been different. A diploma means everything, it is what you are as a person, and it leads to better opportunities in the working field. After working in factories most of my life my body was wore out from the physical labor. So I made a decision to go back to school once again. I applied for college at the age of 29 years old. The list of career opportunities was overwhelming and I had to choose one. It took some time to decide what trade I wanted to pursue and a career that I would like. After one semester of my basics I chose to attend big sandy community college and engage in a two year associates degree as an industrial…
I would say that one stressor I have (or I should say had) was being with my ex-boyfriend, he did not approve of me going back to school. It was a very stressful relationship in the fact that he was a very controlling person. He would tell me that I was stupid, or that I was going to fail or drop out. He would also make it impossible for me to use his computer to do my school work. I often feared that he would tear my books up. He would get physical and I would yell at him or cry. I however, had already decided that I wanted to go to school fulltime. It was very hard for me to leave someone I love, but I do realize that being around my emotionally supportive family is what is best for me. They are very encouraging and proud of me and I think that is a stress relief all on its own.…
