Response to Intervention
This paper focuses on the Response to Intervention. As educators we are hearing RTI more frequently in the school districts than ever before. Many educators and state officials agree that all teachers should know and get to know the benefits and importance of RTI. The most crucial aspect to know is the RTI takes place into the regular childhood classroom; this is not something that just special education teachers need to know. This paper explains the purpose and a brief history of RTI. The paper offers ways that it is beneficial for school districts to implement this research based program. However, as in many systems there are always challenges, the paper briefly discusses some of the challenges that educators face when implementing RTI. Lastly, this paper discusses why it is critical for teachers to intervene early.

Response to Intervention
Response to Intervention also known as RTI is a multi-tier approach to the early identification and support of students with learning and behavior needs that is rapidly being phased into regular education classrooms. “If properly, implemented, RTI has the potential to enhance the early identification and remediation of academic difficulties in the regular classroom by utilizing frequent formative assessment results to directly inform instructional decision making, to the potential benefit of students, teachers, schools, and society” (Kubiszyn & Borich,  2010, p. 57). The purpose of RTI is to prevent failure in students and to refer them to various academic programs before they fail. It’s crucial that students be provided instruction through techniques that are scientifically proven to help enhance their learning. Teacher must be continually monitoring the progress.
