Respect Culture Diversity

With the development of long-range transportation, it is more and more convenient for modern people to travel to different countries. However, the culture differences become an apparent problem between different countries. Some people hold the view that visitors should follow the local customs and behaviors during travelling, while others insist on personal freedom of choice.
People supporting following local culture may state that, it is some kind of respect to local people for travelers abroad to speak, wear or behavior like them. And these similar behaviors contribute to the culture preservation of local regions. If not, local culture will be significantly influenced by global visitors and thus culture diversity will suffers.
People in favor of personal choice hold different views. They may think, as a visitor, we go to different countries just to see the sight view, to learn the culture or to have a vacation. We don’t need to follow the same customs and behaviors, because we make contributions to the economic growth of local places.
From my perspective, it will be more appropriate for the host country to welcome culture difference. First, travelers from globe come from and are raised in totally different environments. They have complete distinctions in religion, customs and daily behaviors. It is not possible for them to obey the local rules. For example, eastern people rarely kiss faces for greeting each other while western people does. These difference are inevitable and should not go in the same rule. Second, as a basic human being, every visitor has this own to choose his life style so long as this choice will not do some physical harm to the local people. To sum up, host country should be friendly and respect visitor’s choice.
