The aim of the Initial Skills Assessment is to diagnose your strengths and weaknesses in the 7 key skills areas. This will assist in setting your initial development goals and will act as a starting point for your portfolio reflections.

How to complete the Initial Skills Assessment
Assess your ‘Initial Level of Skill’, 1=High and 3=Low
Comment on the areas which you feel are particularly important to your development Use the ‘Skills Assessment’ to draft your ‘Initial Development Goals’ During your first month at work arrange a meeting with your manager to discuss your Initial Skills Assessment and set your 6 Initial Development Goals.
