CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
The student dormitory for women is comprised of four- storey building with 600 beds that can readily accommodate by 1,000 students at the maximum. For the dormitory of men, it is still under construction with the same attributes of the dormitory of women. The Student Housing Unit aims to provide the student with comfortable and safe place inside the campus and at the same time, intend to earn a modest income. In addition, house parent employed in the dormitory to provide guidance and counselling to the occupants as well as the housekeeping chores.
The University Dormitory is using a manual process for reservation and saving all information and data of students. In this process, the students need to go to the University Dormitory to fill-up form. Verification of reservation is after the first payment to be issued by the admin. Then the house parent manually type all the information or data of the student and save it on Microsoft Excel. Therefore, the researchers proposed a web- based reservation system that aims to help business to be more fast and accurate when it comes to the reservation. Its features
