Business Ethics Assignment

If I had one job to choose in this world it would be a veterinarian specializing in equine. When I was little this was what I knew I wanted to grow up and do, even knowing I would have to go to school for what seemed to be forever to receive my doctorate. Since before I was walking I was riding horses, which lead into the rodeo route when I turned eleven and was the main focus point my whole life and if there’s passion I had, it was rodeo. The environment and passion rodeo provided me made me want to become a vet so much more; I wanted to know everything possible. When I was about sixteen is when I realized how much I wanted to pursue being a veterinarian. I was on the rodeo road hard core at this point in my life, it even took me out of normal high school to be home schooled while on the road. My main horse was getting hurt on a regular basis which led me to develop a close relationship with a vet who was an equine specialist.

When you’re a vet you can work for yourself and if it is something you enjoy and want to have the knowledge and willingness to learn, you will be successful by the knowledge and the fact that people will trust you with their animals that they hold close to their hearts. The hours may be long and tiring but when you enjoy your work the hours don’t seem as long as they are. When someone puts their trust into you, you appreciate that and don’t want to let them down. Its not just an animal to people, it’s like a child and for some people they can have up to half a million dollars invested. The work environment is so amazing as you are inside and outside helping what you love, for me its horses. When you walk into the office to advise you’re there for your appointment your greeting with smiling faces to make you comfortable knowing you’re in good hands. You have places to unload and place your horses while your waiting so they are not uncomfortable if they are in pain or sick.

My goals in this role

Choosing the career that I want to spend the rest of my life doing is something that was extremely difficult for me. It is hard to understand the concept of selecting what profession is just right for me, and what I may be interested in and want to pursue every day for the rest of my life, especially at such a young age. I have thought about different schools and jobs, as well as the pros and cons, for what seems like my whole summer and senior year. Questions troubled me, about what I wanted to do, for awhile until it finally hit me. I needed to stop worrying and do something I am passionate about. My love for animals has always been the one constant thing in my life. I have always had pets and could not imagine what life would be like without them. Working with animals is something I know I will always be passionate about. There is a saying that I now go by, "Do something you love and you will never work a day of your life.”…

First, a career in veterinary technologist and technician would bring me great personal satisfaction. I enjoy working, helping out, and simply being around animals. For example, Julie Legred, a veterinary technician and executive director at the National Association of veterinary technicians in America, says, “We do everything except diagnose, prescribe and do surgery. They often work in private clinics and animal hospitals, assisting veterinarians with the care of animals” ("Veterinary Technologist and Technician"). Without veterinary technologists and technicians,…

“Being an equine vet can be an emotionally satisfying job for many. The daily rewards in terms of support for your endeavors and the satisfaction of helping animals can be very powerful ongoing motivators. The financial benefits, which is just the icing on the proverbial cake, is that I am able to create my own schedule and work as many hours one week as I would like, while being able to take time off to attend family functions, and other equestrian events and clinics without having to deal with a boss or requesting time off months before and possibly not even getting the days off that I would need. When I was at my job shadow with a licenced well-known equine massage therapist, she had taught me a lot and gave me lots of information. Not just about massage but more about horses in general and showed me how truly sensitive and their ways of communicating with humans on how they are feeling and which spots they are sore. The only risk factors that she had told me was there's no benefits such as health care, dental, medical and things like that, but with your own hours and fitting in clients during your work schedule you can also have another job that maybe did offer good benefits. When I was talking she told me that her hands get super sore when she had back to back appointments and it sucks especially when you have been doing it a long time. but the good…

In the workshop, we are going to design a beam that will rupture when a load of 20 kg is placed at its mid-span region. We have made much consideration and preparation before the testing. At the beginning, we considered to use wood or plastic to make the beam. After observation and research, we find out that wood is more suitable for making a beam and more possible to rupture at 20 kg weight. With several trials, we discovered that the shape, length, width and thickness of the wooden board and the distance between two stands are all very important in contributing the result. Any changes of these features may influence the result and make greatly different consequence. For example, the beam will be easier to rupture if the board is thinner, longer, and narrower or the distance of two stands is longer. We have chosen to use a wooden board that has 10 cm width, 45 cm length and 0.5 cm thickness. Therefore, we decided to adjust the distance between two stands in order to generate a required result and remain the properties of the beam instead of changing the properties of the beam. It can reduce our effort to make modifications of the shape of beam and be more effective and efficient. By adjusting the distance between two stands, we succeeded at the distance of 37 cm and the mid–span of at 18.5 cm. The beam finally ruptured at 21 kg which is the nearest result to preferred weight.…
