INTRODUCTION
A. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
At present, due to over using of repellent, oftentimes humans are affected because of incorrect usage of some repellents. Repellents can cause harm to human, animals, or the environmental because they are designed to kill or otherwise adversely affect the living organisms. Poisoning is the most common disease that humans can get from the repellents. If not immediately treated, it can lead to death. Some alternative repellents are out of the market today, but some People found it difficult to buy due to the present economic crisis. And The danger of the repellent is still present for they do not know its Chemical composition and some of its side effects in their health. Harmful insects are a problem with which Filipino should be concerned, Mosquito and termites can be carriers of deadliest diseases for both humans and animals. Now a day, every community is in high alert because of dengue carried by mosquitoes.

The researcher conducted the study to find out if the chill fruit extract could be utilized as a repellent.

B. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The study aimed to determine the feasibility of chili fruit extract as a repellent. Specifically it sought to:
1) Determine which of the concentration (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%) will give the best result in killing harmful insects like mosquitoes and termites. 2) Determine if Chili fruit spray is as effective as the commercialized insecticide in killing harmful insects. C. STATEMENT OF THE HYPOTHESIS

D. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This study was conducted to find a natural source of repellent. Once

proven, that Chili fruit is an affective source of repellents against

insects and other pests. Some farmers and families were benefited with

repellent. Some repellents such as powder and chalk are very common

to use in house or even in farm. That is the reason the researcher

conducted a spray repellent.
