The komodo dragon is a large species of lizard and they were not known until the First World War. The komodo dragon can be found at the Komodo National Park. Their habitat is mostly in open woodland and hillsides. The komodo dragon has scales and is grey, brown, cream, and grey. It is 6.6 ft.- 10.3 ft. long and is 150 lbs.- 300 lbs. Their top speed is 11mph and it’s a carnivore. Their prey is pigs, deer, and water buffalo. Their main predator is humans and their life span is up to 25- 40 years. The average litter size is up to 20 and the name of their young is called a pup. The estimated population size for them is 3,000- 5,000 komodo dragons.
