It’s hard to think how the Single Action Army could be improved, but Ruger found a way to do it.…
Did you know that a mongoose can be murdorus, at least to cobras? They’ll do anything to protect their family. Murdorus means involving murder or extreme violence, or capable of or intending to murder, dangerously violent. This mongoose got caught up in a storm and ended up at a house in a dry area. Rikki was brought inside to a house to get dried off. He met his new family then and there. There was the big man (the father), the mother and Teddy (the son). That night he went to explore the garden and met two birds, Darzee and his wife. Then he met two cobras, Nag and Nagaina. These cobras were very rude. When one of Darzee’s children fell out of the nest, Nag and Nagaina ate it. Rikki was very impatient with all of the animals, which…
Tom Ferebee, from the nose of the Enola Gay, a B-29, used Victor 4120, a Norden M-9B, to release the "Little Man" atomic bomb over Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945 (Twin Beech). The sight remains with the Enola Gay at the National Air and Space Museum 's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Washington DC. On August 9th, 1945, Kermit Beahan, the bombardier on the Bockscar, another B-29, used a Norden to release "Fatman" over Nagasaki from 31,000 feet. Due to heavy cloud cover, this mission was almost completed using an early radar sight. At the last second though, the clouds opened up just enough to drop the bomb using the Norden (Miller,…
A shell is shot from a shotgun. Pellets then leave the barrel and scatter. A choke controls the pattern of the pellets. A choke is the end of the gun or the muzzle end of the shotgun. In the late 1800’s the Americans viciously forced many Native Americans off their lands all because the federal government wanted the U.S. to expand and obtain Manifest Destiny. The main Native American and tribe that stood against the federal government was Sitting Bull, Chief of the Sioux and entire Lakota nation. He led a large amount of Sioux warriors in many battles against the American government that were fought over the rights and lands of the Lakota nation. He was against the American government and the forceful ways that they took over Indian lands, and therefore he used his strong, spiritual leadership abilities to battle against the American government as well as the U.S army. The author of the biography Sitting Bull and the Paradox of Lakota Nationhood, was written by Gary C. Anderson, because he feels that all Americans should acknowledge the will-power, leadership, determination, and courage of a man like Sitting Bull before him and his impact on Native American and American history is forgotten and lost like most history. As the Americans moved farther and farther westward, they had no reason to harshly force the Indians off their homelands, and Sitting Bull’s refusal against the American government and its armies has left an impact that has shaped the culture many Native American’s way of life.…

Nighthawks, a painting by Edward Hopper, depicts isolation like staying in your own darkness, like being blinded by the bright lights of subjectivity, like repelling others away from the abode of a secluded, glass fishbowl. In the short stories: “The Pedestrian”, “Cathedral”. and “Bullet in the Brain, written by Tobias Wolff, Raymond Carver, and Ray Bradbury, the stories revolve around the isolation associated with defying society, grasping onto subjectivity, and repulse. In the stories: Leonard Mead is given a choice of walking alone or to stay inside. The Man is given a choice of being jealous and prejudicial or being grateful and objective. Anders is given a choice of critiquing the majority of life or letting things go. It is the decision…
Evolutionary biologists believe that birds evolved from reptiles. Their skeletal structure and blood cells of today’s birds share a surprising foundation with reptiles. According to biologists, feathers may have evolved from the scales of reptilian skin, also. From 144 million to 66 million years ago, during the Mesozoic era, the first birds began to evolve. Fossils from this time showed that early birds had teeth. Tens of millions of years ago, a group of birds called kites evolved. Early kites were thought to have scavenged and hunted for fish, much like Bald Eagles do now. The Archaeopteryx resembled both a bird and a reptile. Except for the feathers and bird-like feet, it didn't look like a bird at all. The jaws had teeth, which birds don't…

When Sitting Bull became the chief of his tribe he was constantly leading his warriors into battles against white soldiers. Sitting Bull’s first altercation with white soldiers occurred in June 1863 (“Sitting Bull”). Sitting Bull was aiding the Santee Sioux against the white soldiers’ retaliation after the “Minnesota Massacre.” After aiding the Santee Sioux Sitting Bull was named leader of the Strong Hearts and he became the cofounder of the elite Midnight Strong Hearts (Notable Native Americans). He became the leader of the Strong Hearts after receiving a bullet wound which left him with a permanent limp. Although Sitting Bull was a brave soldier what he did on the battlefield is not the only reason he is…
As the name suggest, Shotgun slugs are exactly that, a chunk of steel coming at a person at an average velocity of approximately 1800 fps when being fired from a 12-gauge shotgun, achieving an energy blow of over 3,100 ft. lbs. Hitting a delinquent with one of these nasty ammunition rounds would have someone’s house looking like a gruesome, horror scene from the walking dead; therefore, those looking to avoid such scenarios should reconsider using buckshot’s instead as an alternative, effective round. Nevertheless, using buckshot’s comes with the risk of seriously injuring or worse, fatally injuring unintended targets or love ones that might be caught in the middle of a fire fight do to the design of the projectile spreading small pallets in…
