Animals can basically be divided into three major categories namely the carnivores, the herbivores and the omnivores. Though they all belong to same parent class but there eating habits are pretty different. Carnivores are basically meat eaters. They generally live on live foods. The biological reason behind this is because they have large mouth and very sharp teeth. This allows them to easily get a hold on their prey and tear off the huge pieces of flesh. The short intestinal tract and the huge stomach is perfect for them to hold even an entire big fish. The American culture focuses on cheap and tasty food that can be readily available when necessary while other cultures focus more on developing foods with complex tastes from recipes that their ancestors use. Maybe the reason that America does not have as developed food is because we have not had centuries to perfect recipes like other countries like India or China. No matter when I was walking through the aisles choosing food I was thinking about what foods I could get that would taste the best instead of foods that have more nutritional value. I also noticed how possibly the reason that I want foods that taste good is because that is what I have known for my whole life. Today from cereal to fruit snacks the package has some sort of cartoon creature with bright colors around them which are meant to attract younger children. If American marketing did not put so much effort into trying to sell the unhealthy food children would be more inclined to eat…

Culture, or the personality of a school, is critical to its success or failure. Culture can be described in many different ways and include so many different parts of an organization that you can get lost in determining whatever it was you were looking for. Looking at these four references one can analyze where some of the strengths and weaknesses of their organization are currently and even identify…

The argument people will often make about why eating meat is acceptable is that humans are designed to do it. If you look at the structure of human teeth; there are molars which are great for grinding but there are also canines which are without a doubt meant for tearing through flesh. Because of this, people can justify eating meat. The piece of information that is often not considered is that while we evolved to eat meat, we did not stop evolving at that point. Our mouths still bare the tools for the consumption of flesh, however morality is a newer development that requires further investigation. Eating has moved beyond the basic physical restrictions of the body and now phycological ones must also be considered.…

Though there are many different schools, branches, regional variants, etc., of Chinese cooking, together they constitute what one might reasonably term "Chinese Cooking", where "Chinese Cooking" is distinct from, say, "Italian Cooking". A nation's cooking culture reflects its food traditions, from the food-preparation and eating habits of the countryside to the food-preparation and eating habits of the city, notwithstanding the increasing introduction of foreign fare that is not only served in "foreign" restaurants in the city, but which today is also found in the freezer section of most supermarkets even in the countryside.…

In today’s multi-cultural society it is most likely that we all have or will interact with people from other cultures. The only aspect of interacting with people from other cultures that sometimes proves difficult for me is the issue of language and accents. For the most part I have no problems understanding most dialects’ yet there are some that are very difficult for me to understand so listen intently. If I know that I am meeting with a person from a culture and I am not familiar with their traditions, beliefs and greeting styles I study about the culture prior to our meeting. This has saved many real estate transactions for me in the past. The other aspect of muti-cultural meetings is the food. Sometimes it’s wonderful and other times it was an experience that I will never forget or want to repeat. Living in a multi-cultural society has created a diverse workforce, a larger circle of friends and in my opinion a better world.…

My food habits are strongly influenced by my religion, and family. I am a vegetarian thus consuming meat is not allowed. In fact across all Hindus consuming beef in particular is considered taboo, as cows are considered sacred and central to the religion. I recalled an incident where I was eating dinner with my colleagues from USA and China. The table was full of poultry, seafood, and yes: beef! However, the values have learnt from my culture and join family, i.e.…

In some parts of the world, people or cultures enjoy very different foods and consider these delicacies. In some cultures they hunt for their food. These cultures never waste any part of the animal’s body. All of the animal’s body parts are edible to them. They will even eat all the organs of the animal. These cultures actually believe that certain organs are aphrodisiacs. These delicacies are very rare and hard to locate. This is the reason why they are considered a delicacy and are so expensive. Some different examples, I found interesting in cultures throughout the world: They would include people eating insects anyway you can imagine. However, you would never find these in an American restaurant. Another is in some areas rats are like field animals and people eat them like they are a squirrel or rabbit. American on the other hand thinks that rats are dirty and disgusting animals. This is because they live in filth in city sewage and garbage dumps. Also, rats carry multiple diseases. In other countries the rats live in fields, eat grass…
