Research Paper On Alfred Wegner

Alfred Wegener was a German meteorologist who created the idea of a continental drift. Wegener received skepticism because of his theory that in the past all continents were part of one large continent. Geologist viewed his theory as nonsense and thought his idea was unwarranted because he was a weather man. Geologist were stuck in the theory that continents must move through oceans and solid rock to change their positions on earth.
Wegener supporting points to his claim by describing how the same rocks, animals, fossils and plants can be found on different continents today. He stated that there was no way animals, rocks and plants could swim to other continents so that explains why continents must have been part of one large one.
