A dermatologist is classified as a surgeon, it is a high demand career that is well paid. They treat and diagnose skin disorders. Dermatologists deal with people of all ages, teenagers to the elderly. They work in an office, either a private practice or in clinics. Dermatologists most often treat bad cases of acne, cysts and skin cancer. They do everything skin related. Dermatologists also have nurses that work alongside them. The nurses give numbing medicine or help find the right tools the dermatologist needs. To become a dermatologist you do need a high school diploma, as well as college level schooling. They use technology for many things, including x-rays and surgical equipment. Since medicine is always being altered you have to stay on your toes. I assume that I’ll have to deal with plenty of changes while becoming a dermatologist. Technology in all aspects is always evolving. Dermatologists use devices to suck out white and black heads. They use tools for surgery to cut open and dissect lipomas. Robotics is used regularly in the medical field to make everything easier. For example, my English teacher had a major surgery and it was directed and performed by a robot! The robot was directed by the surgeons! Medicine is always furthering. There is always new doctors coming in, new techniques and new treatments. Think about it, with the rate of change we might even have a cure for cancer by the time I become a dermatologist. Medicine a hundred years ago was crazy, they didn’t disinfect or even wash their hands. Medicine today is so advanced and it will continue to advance further. Dermatologists are very high demand. If you call to set up a dermatologist you have to wait for a lengthy amount of time. Any type of surgeon is always very high demand, dermatologists included.     In Psychology there are so many different careers that have gained my interest because I love learning how people function, behave, and how the brain works. The first career that truly gained my full interest is Neuropsychologist.
