List the advantages and disadvantages of the following research methods:
In case study its very descriptive clinicians take notes on how this could of developed what triggers the sickness and what treatments are being used to help the patient. The disadvantages are in a clinicians notes the clinician selects what details are important and may be significant in the study. Not all things that are important are noted only what the doctor feels should be included. Correlational Method
Based on the text book researchers measure variables (participants) and are in a better position to do so. Correlations methods also can be used on new groups to check results for prior studies. This is a non-bias testing. Correlation targets group studies and use general information. Group studies are calculated numerically which is not perfect, and in this study results vary depending on the groups. Experimental Method
As in correlation studies experimental methods are not a bias bases testing and nor is there room for personal opinions. The experimental study can be replicated and manipulated later on to reach the cause and effect on that particular study. I don’t really see many disadvantages other than studies taking place outside of their comfort zone this could cause some change in results.
