This chapter presents the research design, research setting, respondents, and the research instruments, validation of the instrument, data gathering procedure and statistical treatment data.
This study used the Pre-test/Post-test through experimental design as a tool of documentary analysis in gathering data. This are use to determine the factors that affect the academic performance of Manobo students in College Algebra. All subjects are randomly assigned to experimental group. The researchers analyzed and interpreted the result of the pre-test and post-test given to the subjects before and after the instructional process with regards to the methods used in teaching College Algebra as well as the learning styles and study habits of the subjects and their financial status and family background . These methods involve one treatment group modeled as follows:

This study was conducted at Surigao Del Sur State University (SDSSU) Main Campus during the First Semester of Academic Year 2013-2014. It is situated in between the towns of Tandag and Tago, specifically at Rosario, Tandag, Surigao del Sur. Particularly, it utilizes the selected Manobo students of all colleges in Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU) who were enrolled in College Algebra.
There are three instruments used by the researchers to gathered information about the academic performance of Manobo students in College Algebra.
