Report on Cottle taylor oral care:-
Issues faced by Cottle Taylor:- * To create a revised marketing plan based on the data available. * Which of the three message to be advertised and worked on in rural and urban. * Determining the product mix to gain more.
Recommendations:-
* The distribution of money spent for the three messages should be uneven as the needs of urban and rural consumer is different.
For urban customer:- they use brushes often but seldom care about changing brushes often and have to make them aware of newer products.
Therefore , Message 1 spend 5%; Message 2& 3 spend 95%.
For rural customer:- for them awareness to use oral care for the first tym is the most important. Therefore , Message 1 spend 70%; Message 2 spend 25 % and Message 3 spend 5%

* The product mix should be such that the products in the market should increase in volume and hence the low range products should be produced more. Also, because most population of India is rural. Middle range products should be produced a little lesser in number and high range electronic brushes should be very less and only for urban population

* The customers who are urban and have more disposable money can spend more on buying the same product. Therefore, the prices can be increased a little.

* The dentists can make an impact on the customers, hence they should be advised to promote the brand.

* There can be sachet oftoothpaste/toothpowder introduced for the rural consumers when the camps are being held in the villages. Initially they can be provided as samples.
Solution:-
The appropriate product mix and uneven spread of the three messages is the key to incur more gains. The divisions can be as

Her plan was to reward regions that met or exceed sales objectives and to reorganize those that underperformed. Until 2004, Shakti is contributing 3.5% (pg 6 & 17: 15 x 20 / 85) towards HLL total revenues and it still has potential to continue growing. This is because personal hygiene awareness is in the increase. Shakti may be able to achieve the founder’s dream of 15%-20% of total revenues, assuming that Shakti can increase the usage rate of current consumer. However it will not achieve the market penetration of over 500 million rural population as this figure signifies that HLL will nearly monopolize the rural market with 80% penetration rate. The greatest challenges that Shakti face are costs and management control to make it profitable.…
