Renters Vs Evictions
For many people, renting an apartment or house is better than buying. Some people do not have the money to purchase a home. Some people do not want to worry about the maintenance and upkeep involved with owning a home. Most people who rent are happy with their decision until they begin having issues with their landlord. Often times, when renters have problems with their landlord, they back down because the landlord owns the property. What they may not realize is that they have rights. The best thing that a renter can do in cases like this is hire a Tenants Rights Lawyer. There are several disputes that these lawyers can help with.

In conclusion, it has been shown that renters will pay less for their living arrangement. Renters also do not have some of the worries that a homeowner does. A renter is not responsible for upkeep and maintenance on the place in which they reside. Renters also several amenities included at no extra cost that homeowners would have to purchase separately. The savings of becoming a renter keep adding up and it almost seems a waste of money to become a homeowner. The final decision is always up to each individual, but the savings of renting is a strong persuading factor in the decision of whether to rent or…

As a mother you want to make the best decisions for your children. In my case I always want to make the best decision for my child. I have a 10 year old amazingly wonderful young man, who is polite, helpful, a straight “A” student, and also the most important reason I began to weigh the option of moving. I moved into a two bedroom apartment the day after I brought my son home from the hospital which also extended an emotional attachment to “my space”. For ten years this was the place we called home. My son attended the same elementary school that I attended as a child, and was able to grow up and play in my parents’ neighborhood which is only a short distance away. While the apartment had its perks there were also many reasons that a move may be necessary.…

In neighborhoods undergoing gentrification, affluent “in-movers” bring with them “new housing investment, cultural and retail services, and improvements in infrastructure. Both higher rents and housing values, however, accompany these changes.” (Institute for Children and Poverty 2009: 1). These rapidly rising rents make the possibility of being “priced out” of the neighborhood a very real concern of those already living in gentrified communities. The closure of safety nets – such as transitional-living options like single-room occupancy buildings – and the increasingly crowded, inadequate, and underfunded shelter system leave those at-risk of or currently experiencing homelessness with few means of survival. Despite the lack of…

Tenant rights and its issues regarding the homelessness in the state of Oregon have been a hot topic for quite some time. This is because the laws regarding the tenants’ rights are very much loose and many people lose their homes because of these. Homelessness is quite a heartbreaking experience. The people who lose their homes are not just people who had lost a roof over their heads, but instead they lose their security, they lose their privacy and most of all they lose a source of comfort. Homeless is a growing issue and if steps aren’t taken to tighten the laws regarding the tenants’ rights, which is one of the biggest reasons for the increase in the numbers of homeless people, things are only going to get worse for the homeless people…

First of all, my landlord has been uncooperative. He seemed very nice and friendly when I was viewing the apartment, but somehow right after I signed the dotted line, that smile turned to a sly grin. For instance, I began to notice a bug problem a few weeks after moving in. One day, I was eating cereal and I noticed ants marching along the table. I thought maybe I left a window open but the next few days I found them by the stove, crawling by the refrigerator and even in my box of Honey Nut Cheerios! I addressed the problem with my landlord several times. The first time he told me to shut all the windows even though it was hot outside. Then, he told me to buy some ant spray and finally, he said he would send a janitor over, but there was still no sign of any improvement.…
