In 2012 the U.S. released 5,290 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into our environment, hurting animals and the environment. And yet our country cannot see that petroleum is not the answer to how our country should run. America should run on renewable resources instead of petroleum. More money should be spent on improving our current renewable technology, as it is far more capable than petroleum. Buildings, vehicles, and anything that runs on electricity should run on renewable energy because it is better for the environment, cheaper, and if renewable energy takes off then it will create millions of jobs for citizens.
