Religion In Little Tree And Granpa
The third main idea that is similar to the three novels is religion. Little Tree and Granpa do not care for church or for religion. For example, the politician at the crossroads store mentioned that Catholics are the rottenest people that ever lived (82). Little Tree agreed that the politician should go back to Washington City to whip the Catholics (83). Granpa mentioned preachers are too focused on themselves, that they do not let anybody into the church without the preacher’s approval (152). After learning about Baptists, Little Tree does not believe that water should have anything to do with religion (153). Granpa mentioned that if God was narrow headed idiot that argued about the strict rules, then Heaven would not be a good place for anybody

In most british literature, the reader can draw conclusions that the author drew insight from the stories based upon Christianity. This insight can be reflected by major characters or events that happen in the text. In the allegory “Lord of the Flies” Simon, a major character, reflects Jesus Christ because both have similar events happen to them. As similar events occur the reader can also theorize that Simon and Jesus share similar traits .…

The important concept that I picked up on was that though all of these varied views are put onto a tree that the artist’s perspectives and individualistic views are what are important. By the creativity behind how the artists pushed the bounds of how a tree is normally perceived and instead viewed the tree in a way that is more connected to them then how the tree’s appearance actually appeared. By the views in which a person may look at the tree and draw it for the exact appearance in comparison to how a majority of artists may look at the tree and see something else. Christianity is an Abrahamic faith based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Many good Christians tend to believe in equality and love for all people, no matter what religion, gender, orientation, or race. Harriet Beecher Stowe is able to include Christian ideology into Uncle Tom’s Cabin and use it to argue the morality and righteousness of slavery. “One newspaper, La Civilta Cattolica, objected to Harriet Beecher Stowe's portrayal "of sentiments so noble and virtues so marvelous [being acquired] by the sole reading of the sole Bible, which seems to be the predominant fixation of the author" (qtd. in Rossi 42223)” (Ashley C. Barnes). Barnes is saying that critics and readers have been able to notice Stowe’s incorporation of Christian morals and Bible references.…
