Upon examination of the Values and Motives Questionnaire: The Technical Manual, it becomes clear what variables are working towards the reliability and validity of this study. The following paragraphs will entail those specific concepts. Validity

After reading through the questionnaire, clarity develops in that two different types of validity are made distinct. Those two categories are named construct validity and criterion related validity. In classification, construct validity epitomizes itself in that its purpose is to make sure that a test, or whatever assessment is being employed, analyzes what it is intended to. In correlation, criterion related validity is concerned with whether the test was a suitable or beneficial judge and interpreter of an individual gauge or evaluated standard. In this case, the questionnaire being able to weigh assorted values on dispersed scales. Reliability

A second major impact in the triumph of this questionnaire is noble reliability. The reliability in this study is calculated with unsystematic error in tow—meaning, if a mistake, or an inaccuracy is made, it is done variously and miscellaneously from many angles, not from one sole individual. Two different ideas of reliability were seen within this study: test-retest reliability and measures of internal consistency reliability. Test-retest reliability is when a valuation is made regarding particular scoring records over two or more trial instances. In other words, “test-retest reliability method is when a reliability coefficient is calculated simply by correlating the performance on the first administration with the performance on the second administration (Whiston, 2013, p. 45-46).
