Regrets
Regrets are the most painful thing to think about. Couple nights ago, I was suffering from insomnia, lying on bed and thinking back about what my past, I found out that I have missed so many things and didn’t really fight for what I want.
Take relationship as an example, I have met so many lovely and nice girls, but I lost the chance. I was having good conversations and getting along well with them, but I was too rational about my own relationship and worry too much about what’s going to happen, turn out that I’m the biggest loser, I regret I didn’t go for what I really want, a little bit like cower I think of myself. I was a lazy person too, I had so many plans about learning new knowledge and make myself a better man, but I was too lazy that I keep missing chance about improving myself. I was going to take German class in ISU since I had had German before but I miss the chance and I totally forgot to do it. So many things happen like that, when I finally realize I should have done that thing!! It’s already to late.
I was totally not the one I expect to be, but good thing is that at least I realize what I have to do. Such things happen to me just make me think about changing myself, I shall not be the lazy boy who doesn’t have dreams to go for, I must keep the bad behind and become better!!
Start now, I will be more positive about my life, live in the present and do everything that I have to do immediately, try to beat the old me and become a better Evan Lo.

Life is a balancing act between the past, present, and future. Expressing guilt and regret about the past is almost instinctual, but we accept that it is unchangeable and we put it behind us. However, there are some, who so desperately cling to the idea of the past and believe that they have the power to repeat it. While an action can be repeated in order to emulate an action of the past, the entirety of the moment can never be recreated. This is due to the fact that unlike a physical action, the emotions and intent behind the action are impossible to duplicate.…

After reading Houston’s memoir Farewell to Manzanar, it brings out the treatment of the government of the United States to the Japanese living in the country at the time of world war two were discriminative. In the Executive Order 9066, it is evident that the policies the government was trying to enforce were solely aimed at oppressing the Japanese. The order opened up a gap that would allow the military commanders to make the decisions on who should be evacuated from the military area. This freedom led to the Japanese being evacuated to concentration camps since they were viewed as threats to the United States. Fred Korematsu was charged with defying military orders to evacuate and detained. According to him, he had not committed any crime to warrant him to be charged. More to that, Korematsu was born in the United States and is thus a citizen of the United States. By arresting him, the government had violated his rights as a citizen of the United States. When he tried to defend himself at the Supreme Court, the judgment passed overlooked the provisions in the law for him as a citizen. This is because it had violated the fourth, fifth and fourteenth amendments. The fourth amends requires that everyone be accorded the right to be secure with everything that belongs to them. It is provided that they shall not be subjected to unreasonable investigation, detention and also any violations of whatsoever nature unless with conclusive evidence. The Fifth Amendment provides for a person’s freedom in the United States to be respected and if it is to be withdrawn then there has to be a legal process to do as such. The fourteenth amendment states that any an individual who is a United States citizen either through birth or by naturalization remains to be a citizen. The government thus is not in a capacity to authorize any laws that will deprive any citizens of their rights or invulnerability as citizens of…

It is one of the most underrated troubles. For it causes many issues in the world, though the blame always seems to fall upon some other reason of cause. Laziness causes people to not want to fulfill their wildest dreams to refusing to do necessary duties. On the island of the lotus eaters, Odysseus faces laziness at its most extreme. The lotus flowers cause people to magically lose their longing for home. Sailors don’t have much control over their laziness, for it was forced upon them by way of magic lotus flowers from the natives. My troubles with laziness come from giving up because something is “too hard”, when really I just am being lazy. It causes me to not work as hard as I should to achieve my goal of having a happy and healthy lifestyle. Laziness in Odysseus’ story and mine are similar because we both lose the lust for our goal. Luckily we can both overcome laziness with hard work and determination, even if Pandora releases it from the box…

So I usually don’t get all my work done until Fridays and Saturday.…

However, the judgment of regret is a person’s way of reflecting one’s actions and regret is the first step in the conditions that determine his future conduct. It is commendable and justified and this “judgment of regret” paves the way for a moral direction of action for the future, not because one realizes that the past could have happened in a different way. The recognition of a wrongdoing is an innate response to what we have done. It is not a form of punishment we inflict upon ourselves. It is only through regret or remorse that we learn to make amends.…

Have you ever made a decision that you regretted? When I was younger, I thought it would be fun to shoot airsoft guns at my friends. What I didn’t realize is that I could hit them in the eye. When I made these decisions, I acted without thinking about the possible outcomes. In Romeo and Juliet, there were two feuding families, the Montagues and the Capulets. Juliet was a capulet, while Romeo was a Montague. While at the Capulet’s party, Romeo fell in love with Juliet and she fell in love with him. This was very controversial love because few people could know that they’re together. They got secretly married and shortly after, Romeo was banished and fled to Mantua.
